Traditional and Modern pairings

Ohta and William Henry today for something different.

Those are two lovely's there Gary! I surely do miss my William Henry's :(

Here's a shot of old and new, the top is a French made classic slip joint folder
Le Thiers by Chambriard called Le Compagnon with buffalo horn tip scales and decorative pin inlay, stainless bolsters and blade is 13c27 Sandvik razor steel
The second is the Spyderco new slip joint called the Pingo, this one always rides clipped to my back left pocket, constant companion ;) it's made in Italy with Bohler N690co steel

Thanks Gary! I'm going to have to pull the trigger and get one of those Le Thiers. Very nice!

The William Henry that gets carried most, is the one I bought from you, the Tom Brown Quest. Great knife!

Oh Gary, go ahead and twist that memory lol, the Tom Brown Quest was my grail and it's dearly missed, glad it's found a great home!

And two thumbs up on the Le Thiers, I just sold my Spyderco Caly 3.5, also a great knife, but needed the funds to order ANOTHER Le Thiers but in Ebony scales and inlaid pins as well. Yes, I have it bad right now. I'll be getting back into sheaths again soon, need to get my discretionary knife fund built back up and being home more now is about time...

Geeze, this is the first time I visited the traditional forum in a while and I immediately bought a Case peanut in Mother of Pearl to match my Sebenza in white ivory. I need to stay away! :D

Nothing quite like nice amber stag.

Gary, That WH is stunning:thumbup:

Gary, I have been tempted by these Le Thiers as of late, I am really liking the lines of these, and your example has beautifull covers and pinwork! The temptation is strong to get one of these after looking at your photo...

Gary, Nicely matched pairing today, a couple of beauties for sure!

These two are with me today, I blame this thread for making me re discover these Paul knives ;)
This one sat mostly un used since 1997, the action was "off" a bit. A google search found the patent drawing and I got the courage to unscrew the collar a bit, it was a simple mis adjustment from the start. Now it flips open and closed with just gravity if desired.

These have been my go to blades. I was recently gifted the spyderco from my mom for my 31st. Great knife and works well with my boys knife. Was out for a hike when I took this shot.

Thanks Duane! I like that pair you're showing.
I've always admired the Paul knives but haven't gotten around to buying one yet.

WOW!! Those are beautiful Gary.

Have a great day,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff!

How many "Matched" sets do you have?

Not nearly enough! :D

I'm bringing this one back with these two little "dress up" knives. Something my better half insists I do now and then. ;)

Very sweet pairing Gary
Nice touch on the bolsters of the SBG ... those W.H.'s are a joy to handle aren't they
