Traditional and Modern pairings

I think the philosophy is "Modern until proven traditional" and when you look at it that way it's hard to prove The Roadie is traditional. Pretty much all it's got going for it is that it's slipjoint.

Im biased because I think it's ugly, no offence :)

Here's my pair for today. Traditional knife, modern car.

^^ That's a beautiful Oeser! Love the profile on the secondary!

Thanks, my picture really doesn't do it justice. As soon as I get my hands on a decent camera I plan on starting a thread all about the secondary blade on this knife. It has a drawn swedge on the presentation side and a deep cut swedge on the pile side for easier access to the main blade. A beautiful asymmetry that I didn't notice until after I had the knife in hand, but that I appreciate very much.

That Spydy might be feeling some blade envy. I didn't realize how much steel I pocketed this morning until I saw all of them ready for action.

I actually started a thread over in the Spydie sub about Spyderco producing a traditional folder using a stockman pattern. Everyone seemed to think my idea was absolutely horrid and I was laughed at. They said the roadie was as close to traditional as (they believed) Spyderco was willing to go and to shut up about it.

Lol

Oh, Ya sorry, I just thought I was missing a link on the web site or something. As a general rule in life, if a craftsman doesn't display his prices with his wares... I'm out. :)

Might have to make an exception for one of those dandies though.

It wouldn't really be appropriate to post this in the "totin' today" thread, but this is my carry for the day - an exercise in slim profiles:

Also, sometimes you just need a size reference to realize how small (or big) something really is...
