Traditional blades and BBQ

Tehachapi???

How far is that from Mission Viejo?

I get out that way a few times a year to visit family. Maybe I'd drive up to see what you could do for a S&W model 637 high ride pancake.

We're a couple hours north of LA, so maybe four hours or so depending on traffic going through that mess. Could do that holster for sure. J jackknife Got a Mod 36 myself.

Okay, so this is a photo taken last summer, I had nothing to do with cooking this myself (my dad did it) and the knife in the picture was not used in the butchering or preparation of the food...but it sure helped me tackle it once it was on the plate. Thanks Dad.;):)

The knife is a Rough Rider split back whittler.

MEAT!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

What God intended man to live off of!!

I confess that I do not understand vegetarians, let alone vegans! Who can deny the pleasure of a large part of an animal cooked how you like it on your plate!

Shhhhhh! My partner is a full on vegetarian so it's only really around my dad's I get to sample such delights. So, and to give my beloved's cooking all due credit, I get the best of both worlds...so yeah I love my dad very much. ;)

Had some BBQ for dinner but forgot to take any pictures. I guess I was distracted by the plate of hot links. My wife won’t let me have them anymore so I get them when she isn’t around.

Totally forgot too! My wife, my son and I went to my parents for dinner. My dad had smoked some ribs and sausage on his new Trager grill. It was phenomenal!

Those look great. We normally get skirt steak and have the membrane removed, it makes fore really tender fajitas.

It looks like I need to get out and fire up the grill/smoker, I haven’t posted in here in a while.
That’s what I use, they came out tender enough... I’ve done better though. They are all gone so as usual I am my worst critic..:D

It was. I cut up some of the sausage and put it in red beans. It will be better tomorrow.

Every BBQ I go to I'm accompanied by this little combo of Flashlight / SAK on my belt .
The Flashlight is often used more than the knife , but a SAK with its selection of tools and blades is a fantastic addition .

Ken

I’d like to know more about that set, and the sheath.

I swear one of these days I’m going to get the smoker going again. Three weekends almost in a row down to San Antonio is cutting in to my BBQ and knife carrying time.

I’d like to know more about that set, and the sheath.

That is a combo sheath I made a few years ago , it was new then and looks bit beaten up now .
It carries a two layer Alox SAK and has a cheap Led Lensor flashlight .
Combo sheaths are great things and I'm surprised more people dont make them . They are a bit of a pain to make , but the end result is worth it .
I'm sure if you search " Combo sheaths " here on the forum you will find some more to look at , or if you want I can dig out a few of my old pics .
