Wonderful collection.

This is a great dress carry because it is small, has a blade, scissors, file, and money clip. First time I carried this was to a wedding. On the drive there, my wife asks me if I have a knife (knowing damn well that I do). She had been messing with her dress, so I asked her if she wanted a knife or scissors. She said scissors. I handed this to her. She never batted an eye or said anything other than thanks as she trimmed a loose thread. I know it must have annoyed her that I had the right knife at the right time, as she (rightly) thinks I invest too much time and money in my knives.....

My Sunday, go to meetings, suit knife is a Gray jigged bone Russlock. Not very traditional.

Although I spend most of my days in an office (sometimes a lab), I am lucky enough not to have to wear a suit all that often. Usually, jeans or "business casual" are good enough. Still, given the environment, most of my daily use knives fall pretty squarely into the "gentleman's" category (Fontenille-Pataud Laguiole XS, actually several of them, a CRK Mnandi, an A.G. Russell Pinched Peanut, a small Moki Kronos, a Canal Street Boy's Knife, etc.). When compelled to wear a suit, I usually went with the Peanut or the Mnandi as they are small and light. Then, recently, I bought this Alox Bantam as a travel knife. I wanted something slender and light, with a decent sized blade, that I could throw in the suitcase. Something cheap enough that if it disappeared from my bag along the way, I wouldn't be too bummed out about it.

Long story short: this thing is now my go-to suit pocket knife. It is incredibly slender, only a few millimeters wide, and lightweight and just disappears in a suit pocket. Maybe not as elegant as the others, but elegant enough. And under $20. I gave one to a friend and it is so slim he keeps it in his wallet.

One question. What's a "suit"? I have a tee shirt with "This is as dressed up as I get" printed on the front.

My pocket knife for my party pants is a Ken Coats shadow toothpick in black micarta.
