Happy belated birthday! Seems we share the same birthday!Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! This arrived today.
End of last month was my Birthday. The wife bought me this Lombard. Thanks to Jean-Marc @Âchillepattada organised it for us. My hat is off to JM, see it's on the floor
Thank you my friend!!
I love it. The scales give it an old school look, like old ivory

I’m sorry, I don’t need a literal translation. It was just my way of making a comment linking my Laguiole with the steak I was cooking for dinner. But, thank you for chiming in.
On the stovetop in a hot pan. It was delicious. Always looking for an excuse to use my knife. How did you cook it? Seems you don't need a Lag, looks very tender.
Congrats on acquiring that magnificent old knife, José!!
Everything about it is appealing!
Thanks Alain!!Ivoirine![]()

I may be wrong but I understand it is a 3 men venture, Davide Steri, François Seichal, Pierre-Yves Joyeux, completion going through six hands.Spectacular knife!!! Please explain the term "six handed"!!??
Sure looks like a Laquiole to me???
Wow lucky you!Thanks Alain!!
Just in,Gary W. Graley has allowed me to be the new caretaker of his much loved Chambriard knife!! A beauty in hand!!!
Gary inserted a sliver of cork to protect the blade from the usual "snap"-closed habit of us North Americans, and honed the edge nicely!! The custom-fit sheath is the icing!!
Thanks, G2!!

GaryI purchased this barrel knife a couple of months ago, and have been very happy with it (although I should find something to treat the oak handle - mineral oil doesn't seem to be helping its apparent dryness so far). One aspect of the buying experience that really impressed me was that the box in which the knife arrived included this sheet of paper suggesting that the seller (Knives-of-France ) had actually done an inspection of the product before mailing it out. Much appreciated!
