I‘ll be in Cologne for an exhibition next week. This Perceval „Le Francais Vintage“ will be my chosen knife for the time. It should be able to handle anything that might come up and is people friendly in case it needed.

Really pretty and slender, is it snake wood?
Sorry for the late response but due to the requirements of being an exhibitor the days were too long for anythings beside. I had to make do with 4-6 hours of sleep with no room for anything else. You are right it‘s snakewood or as the French call it amourette.

More Capuchadou photos please.View attachment 2204832
I thought someone else may have a Capuchadou, but here are some new photos of mine.

The spring interface on these is interesting. Almost a lockback, but not quite. They have a differential pull, firm initially, which lightens most of the way and then a strong, secure snap open. I find it very satisfying.

Thanks Steve. It must be over a year since I became enamored with them. The photo of it in hand shows it much better than most stock photos which make the blade appear as if it's canted downward at a severe angle. Now, all I have to do is decide on a configuration and save up the cash.

D DeltaTrain Who is the maker of that one? I thought that Pradel was for the most part a knife with Spear blade, single-bolster and slightly flaring handle? This looks more like the patten L'alpin. Perhaps Jolipapa Jolipapa or Corto_Malt Corto_Malt can comment?

Thanks, Will
It is an Alpin! The Pradel name is for a long time no longer a trademark, quite a generic name like Frigidaire, Delco, etc. Pradel used an anchor (or "11" less frequently) on the blade as shown on this '30 catalogue..
