Traditional French Fry day

Very good use of thick slabs of smooth Stag as a shadow, great knife Christian.

You never know about that lost 73 though...the Chambriard Stag I posted earlier was lost in old clothes in a corner for 5 years before a house move and a Horn covered Fontenille-Pataud turned up inside the frame of a bed that had become victim of a rodent invasion...MIA 4 years o_O:D Currently my favourite GEC 83 also Stag is missing, you never know. It's always the better knives or ones with an association that go missing, but better to have lost than never toted at all:thumbsup:

See anything you liked there?
I ordered a couple of French knives as Father's Day gifts to myself! 🤓

Of course! Thanks for the heads up on that one.

Olive wood barrel, cocobolo Montpellier, smoked oak Galeam.... Just to name a few! That Montpellier is definitely coming home first.

I picked up a few US rope knives, a Pradel and some knife building/modifying supplies recently so its probably best to wait a few weeks before adding anything more. Can't make it too obvious that I have a problem.......

Looking forward to seeing your choices!

I think so too. I have a few laguioles now, but this is the only one that gave me this feeling.

Completely agree.

Thanks Will. I received both the laguiole and the Belgian blue this morning as a present for Father's Day. It was a very thoughtful replacement for the treasured stag #73 that I lost earlier this year.

I am amused by the full disclosure stamped proudly and openly on the blade. No wondering about the origins of this knife!

Honoré will take you from his Christmas card list!

Montre de gousset (montre de poche?) et couteau français.

My favorite French watch brand with the new Pradel. As with the knife, this watch is well built and reliable. The older calibres have a little more flair, but this calibre 41 is bulletproof and a good everyday watch.

Promise this is the last picture of the new Pradel for a while! 😁. Just wanted to add a Besançon watch to your French traditional thread.

Outstanding! I'm going to make a wild guess and say it's either this material called Juma - Ivory Snakeskin, or something very similar. I've thought about re-covering a knife with it.

Look for photos of the 2016 (?) run of GEC #47 Vipers. I believe they used this juma material on some. I think they may have called it “snakeskin acrylic?” But it was definitely this stuff. Quite a striking knife.

Ah, yes, I had that particular one when it was released. The manufacturer calls it Golden Dragon, GEC renames everything. Great stuff!

For Friday, I have this French Stag with me!
