Traditional French Fry day

Those are real lookers, I have my Perceval up for sale, should have gone for one with that blade shape as I like the usefulness of a sheepsfoot blade, although the other one cuts very well.

Beautiful knives shown by all!!!

Here is a lovely old stag-handled French folder that dates well past the century mark. It was talked about in the recent episode of the "Catch Bit Show" podcast.
The stag handle is one-piece construction with the center carved out to accept the blade. It has an external blade spring and a locking mechanism which requires the ring to be pulled to unlock and close the blade.
"Nogent" is stamped on the blade which is a famous cutlery region in France.

It was a pleasure having Stephane from "Knives of France" on the latest show and hear the stories of his blog and website.

Are they so short in name inspiration they named her Pradel? I don't judge the knife, just the curious marketing, it's like branding a Camaro "Beetle"...
This is a new pattern of their own, some will like, other won't, but where's the link to the Pradel (with the anchor) folder?

Thank you for say that Alain. I admit, when I first saw that knife I immediately thought, "Ce n'est pas un Pradel!"
It was short sighted on my part to post the innovation without the traditional pattern from which their inspiration sprang. They’ve done the same kind of modern take on the Le Thiers pattern as well.

I prefer the traditional look over the more angular pattern, but I think there’s still a resemblance going on; even if many still prefer the older pattern.

In any case, sorry for omitting the traditional pradel and thanks for filling in my omission.

My post was in no way aimed against you! In fact I was not aware of this new design.

Thank you for say that Alain. I admit, when I first saw that knife I immediately thought, "Ce n'est pas un Pradel!"
There must be a new marketing manager there, sure knows a lot about selling. Less sure about knives... if any resemblance, that would be to a Cévenol...

Thanks Gary. I saw your listing and am pretty surprised no one has picked it up..... Beautiful wood on it and I would probably have taken it off your hands but I already have two of them. o_O
Loving that friction folder.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, it's actually the liner lock version although I had tried for the friction folder but it was discontinued several years ago. Still a fun one though
