Loving that friction folder.
Are they so short in name inspiration they named her Pradel? I don't judge the knife, just the curious marketing, it's like branding a Camaro "Beetle"...
This is a new pattern of their own, some will like, other won't, but where's the link to the Pradel (with the anchor) folder?

It was short sighted on my part to post the innovation without the traditional pattern from which their inspiration sprang. They’ve done the same kind of modern take on the Le Thiers pattern as well.Thank you for say that Alain. I admit, when I first saw that knife I immediately thought, "Ce n'est pas un Pradel!"
There must be a new marketing manager there, sure knows a lot about selling. Less sure about knives... if any resemblance, that would be to a Cévenol...Thank you for say that Alain. I admit, when I first saw that knife I immediately thought, "Ce n'est pas un Pradel!"
I agree, Christian!! They bring a little history with them!!I like those restored kniveswaynorth . Though obviously part of the same tradition, they have a personality that the newer laguioles do not necessarily share.
Thanks Gary. I saw your listing and am pretty surprised no one has picked it up..... Beautiful wood on it and I would probably have taken it off your hands but I already have two of them. Those are real lookers, I have my Perceval up for sale, should have gone for one with that blade shape as I like the usefulness of a sheepsfoot blade, although the other one cuts very well.

Thanks, it's actually the liner lock version although I had tried for the friction folder but it was discontinued several years ago. Still a fun one thoughLoving that friction folder.
Thanks for sharing.
A day late I'm afraid but I found this excellent short film about Jean Issard:
I enjoyed listening to the whole ramble!!! Then I ordered two knives from Stephane!!It was a pleasure having Stephane from "Knives of France" on the latest show and hear the stories of his blog and website.
The picture makes me think I am in a small village enjoying the local fare.
A 14 cm Laguiole, scales are warthog, made by the brothers Bruno & Laurent Dubesset.

They do refurbish old knives indeed.Beautiful laguiole. Do you know if the Dubessef brothers refurbish knives? I have one that shares some of the same design elements.
