Seems these days dark /black ebony come from Laos.Probably Gabon (getting rare), but the wood looks stabilized, is it?

That is goodI don't remember who mentioned Coutellerie du Barry as an option for Laguioles, but whomever it was thank you. We (my wife and I) no longer had to fight to get a knife but could take our time (sort of window shopping). We then had several options to choose from. It took 7 days from when we placed the order until it shipped. Altogether less than 3 weeks from purchase to delivery. I am very satisfied.
