Traditional French Fry day

Seems these days dark /black ebony come from Laos.

I have seen references from a French laguiole maker that said they source their ebony from Mali or Senegal, which means it is actually African blackwood. I have also seen French makers use Madagascar ebony, which can be very fine grained and very uniform pitch black.

I don't remember who mentioned Coutellerie du Barry as an option for Laguioles, but whomever it was thank you. We (my wife and I) no longer had to fight to get a knife but could take our time (sort of window shopping). We then had several options to choose from. It took 7 days from when we placed the order until it shipped. Altogether less than 3 weeks from purchase to delivery. I am very satisfied. I'll let my photos do the talking.IMG_9628_copy_1600x1231.jpgIMG_9659_copy_1600x1246.jpg
