Traditional Knife and Gun Picture Thread

Always fortuitous to come up with the right serial numbers for one's situation. And who doesn't love a snake gun? Maybe some day I will sell the car and get a vintage minty Diamondback.

In fairness, I did request the number, though I did not expect to get it. I do love the snake guns and the vintage ones are really the best. Mine is a modern rendition but it's a pretty great revolver. My gunsmith has been very happy with the newer Colts so that gives me some confidence in them.

357 was on my “request” list, congratulations ;). I ended up with 223. (Your pic is kewler than mine).

I'd say you still got quite fortunate with that number!

I didn't even know we could request multiple numbers. I just requested the one I wanted and then figured I would get something random.

Where has the time gone? Hard to believe that my little girl is almost old enough to need her own weapons.
While I can't truly relate kamagong kamagong I will say it's great to see. I'm feeling a similar sentiment as the years fly by as I get more salt with my pepper. My wife & I are without children but we do enjoy seeing our nephew grow up so fast. I'm doing some work now on a Savage falling block action with a half octagon barrel in .22 lr that is a 2/3 size "boys rifle" which he will get when he comes of age. (Btw his parents fully approve & will have possession of it until then)
Your daughter is lucky to have a good father like you to watch out for her & teach her how to be self reliant 👍

I love that pair up!!! I've cut my teeth learning & burned through a lot of old cartons with those old Ruger 22's with my dad, they bring back some great memories.
Btw, I do still remember asking my dad on almost every weekend after school when the chores were done for a new box of 22's, back when they still sold them in the "milk carton" 😉

Amazing pic!
The Forum Knife & that Colt make an excellent pair!
You have to get some matching leather for them now! 😉

Wait until it is all salt and/or falling out. When your nephew has children it will really hit home.
You are a great uncle for setting him up with this rifle.

Thanks. Funny you should mention the .22lr. Although the OD Glock is my daughter's, I still have possession of it until she's ready to go out in the world. She loves green. I grabbed it now because it was available, if I had waited until she was of age I'm certain it would be nowhere to be found.

She has little interest in pistols at the moment. Everytime we go to the range, the only gun she wants to shoot is my bolt action CZ. She loves that thing.

I think you did the right thing getting it now and she has great taste! Here is my 19 in Forrest green or whatever they called it. 🤠👍🏻64358748995__09407B50-EDD5-4AC3-A3E2-9E4DE7574552.jpeg

Heck of a setup.
Thanks Rick! I love the lines of the CZ 75 & the #81, I think they make a good pair.
I had that CZ worked over by some Cajun gunsmiths in Louisiana. I had them replace the hammer & trigger to a different style along with tuning & polishing of the internals. Also had them custom fit a barrel bushing to improve accuracy.
It may not look super custom but it has it where it counts. That thing is a tack driver with a trigger that breaks like a glass rod.
Absolutely smooth & crisp.
The first time I took it out I couldn't believe it, I was able to put 5 rounds in the same hole!

Dang Zach.
Sounds like a fine pistol. Amazing what quality gunsmiths can do. Agree on having what counts. Kind of like the old school "sleeper" hot rods. Might not look all fancy but when time comes, it reveals it's true beauty and abilities.

Japanese Arisaka. Chrysanthemum is the imperial emblem.
Yes 👍
His father brought this model 99 back from his time he spent in Japan 80 years ago.
I'm going to try to get ahold of a matching bayonet to go with it if I can for his son. He was unable to bring one back with him with the rifle & I think it would be a nice addition to go along with it for them.
