Traditional Knife and Gun Picture Thread

I've been waiting for this day a long time. Took my little girl shooting for the first time today.

Nice Dad move! Cz is my guess…? How did she do? Hope the range was not too crowded.

Good eye. It's a CZ 452 Trainer.

She did pretty well for her first time out. We'll work on her accuracy, but she seems to have an instinctual grasp on gun handling. After shooting 50 or so rounds, she stepped aside and asked the old man to show her how it was done. After firing a magazine through the 452, I let her continue shooting. Without any prompting from me, she proceeded to work the bolt with the gun pointed downrange, eye on the target, the rifle never leaving her shoulder. She simply mirrored what she observed and shot like that the rest of the session.

Range was not crowded at all, looked to be at 20% capacity, if that. That was the hope all along, I figured first thing in the morning on a Wednesday is the least likely time to draw crowds. School year starts tomorrow, I took the day off so we could have some father/daughter bonding.

kamagong kamagong Your daughter had some nice shooting. I'm a CZ guy and love the the 452. I have 452 American and a 455 varmint that I use often. Great to see you enjoying shooting with your daughter.

Yep.... our son (44 yrs old) still has his Marlin papoose that we gave him when he was around 12 or so. He says he will never part with it.

Things like that stay with you....
I still have the Winchester model 190 that Dad and I bought at K-Mart when I was 13 or 14. Its one of two guns that will never be sold. The other is a Winchester model 37a single shot 16 gauge that was my Grandpa's.

Wow Mike, l'd love to see your 37 someday!

Here you go. I should point out that its a 37A and not a 37. I once talked to a guy at a gun show that had half dozen model 37's for sale. Without telling him I had an "A", I asked him what the difference was. He proceeded to expound on the vast superiority of the 37 over the 37A. I never bothered to do any research on the matter. All I can say is this particular 37A has always done what it was supposed to do thumb.gif

With the aforementioned model 190, and a knife, because this is BF after all ;)

Thanks for the kind words James. I'm not sure what Grandpa shot with it. I've killed hundreds of clay pigeons with it :D
