Traditional knives and tools

New little knife and a new little wrench.

My uncle favors RIGID ( sometimes PROTO) pipe wrenches, and the Buck 305 I gifted him a few years back is his favorite pocket knife.

He's talked me through a good number of plumbing issues over the phone and always patiently puts up with my nonsense when he does.

Ridgid is hard to beat. All of us in our small family plumbing business use ridgid pipe wrenches, and most every one else I see that uses a pipe wrench professionally uses a ridgid.

We broke one a few years ago, a 36” aluminum. It was pretty weird but they replaced it no problem.

My uncle was using cheapo aluminum wrenches for awhile when his supply house dumped a bunch of them on him for a next to nothing bulk price.
A few years back he told me he had a pile of old pipe wrenches I could dig through and take what I wanted before he scrapped them.
I found an old 18" RITCO ( a homeowner grade wrench from RIDGE Tool ) and a smaller PROTO.
The rest of the pile was at least 30 of the budget aluminum wrenches and all had failed in various ways before the teeth could wear very much at all.

He went back to RIGID after that.

This photo was not staged, this is the way my leather work bench looks... Messy, messy, messy.
The Case Yellow Trapper is one of the first knives I bought when getting back into traditionals and lives on my bench now.
It's starting to look like my kitchen table John! :D ;) Nice to see your bench :)
