Both in Utica NY I believe.Like many collectors, I don't just collect knives!! Some pliers are graceful works of art!!View attachment 2186752
I wonder if Utica Tools was anywhere near Utica Cutlery???View attachment 2186753
I wonder what their reasoning was?? They likely were not making enough profit!!Both in Utica NY I believe.
Utica made great tools, too bad the triangle group shut them down in 1994.
I'm not 100% sure but I think it has to do with the cooper industries then subsequent Danahar buyout.I wonder what their reasoning was?? They likely were not making enough profit!!
Are they completely defunct now?? It seems they were making knives very recently!!I'm not 100% sure but I think it has to do with the cooper industries then subsequent Danahar buyout.
They also owned Diamond and and Herbrand which they shut down as well.
I believe herbrand went Chinese in the late 70's or early 80's.
If I'm not mistaken they also owned Bonny which I've been told is still in business but back to making plumbing fittings...ect instead of tools.
Oh I was talking about the tool company, Utica Kutmaster is still around and making knives. Are they completely defunct now?? It seems they were making knives very recently!!
Yup!!! I wrenched it out of the deep, dark archives!!!Nice to see this thread up again![]()

Ah!! Gotcha!!Oh I was talking about the tool company, Utica Kutmaster is still around and making knives.
I think they might still have a traditional pocket knife model or two, but otherwise they just seem to be making their Essee style fixed blades.
I believe Milwaukee has better equipment thn DeWalt.. At Least in my experienceView attachment 1654195
