These neat little channellocks belong to my dad, I haven’t been able to talk him out of them.

I think its my favourite thread ever,it combines a lot of my likes in life, now if you could do one with motorbikes as well it would be perfect.

Here is my issued to me British Army electricians penknife (except it wasn't I had a friend in the stores gave it to me} its not what you know.
It was for vehicle electrician's only,we had so few most of us mechanics had to do the electrics our selves.

I also made a test lamp from a Land Rover side light also from the stores.

We where poorly equipped I gave the test lamp and other stuff to the REME museum including my dog tags which are on display.

My friend was an armourer and he made the punch for me from a SLR gas rod I've used it a lot its going nowhere.
He also made me a screwdriver from another gas rod and a SLR carrying handle that's in the museum now.

The pen knife is almost impossible to open so I never close it,I filed the end down and used to for distributors and points on everything from Saracens to B81 engines in MK1 432s
Its seen some use back in the day,Ive retired it now.

I'm sure you know the old song about the Quartermaster's stores! :D I love your punch! Interesting that Wright's made that knife, Ibberson's made an earlier Radio Knife with a similar blade. Unfortunately, the blade on mine is completely ruined, and I only have an old pic

Oh Matron,where you military?

We had a lot of old King Dick (titter) issued spanner’s some from the 40s I often wondered if the had been used in the western desert by the desert rats.
My LMG said Bren on the side with 2 lines crossing it out as it was rebored 7.62 we really did have some old stuff still in use.

I have a mate with a tool stall, and he still sells a lot of King Dick spanners, his main waggon is an Austin K9 funnily enough :)

My wife probably has more tools than I do, and she certainly uses hers more frequently than I use mine! o_O I don't use my tools much any more since I stopped trying to do most auto repairs (when cars got computers) and I stopped attempting my own plumbing (before I hurt someone in my frustration). Her tools include a set of color-coordinated tools that are usually in a drawer of a dresser we keep on the back porch. Here's an assortment of little screw drivers, with and without matching flowers! 🤓

Cool pics Gary :)

Cool pics Gary :)
Thanks, Jack. :) My photos can't hold a candle to all the fascinating pics you've posted here already!:cool::thumbsup: (Is a candle holder a "tool"?)
Your latest post, with some pics from your table threads, reminded me that I have some tools tucked away that came to me from over the sea - thanks!
This button spanner came with the ring opener in the pic below it:

Not sure if "knife rests" are actually tools, but these are also generous gifts from Jack!:thumbsup::cool:

You're very kind Gary, but most of those pics are very utilitarian ones taken some years ago :) I'm not sure about a candled-holder being a tool, or knife rests! :D It's nice to see them though, along with that old button spanner :) I have another somewhere I think. I'll try to find some time this week to take more pics
