traditional knives in movies

Was watching alfred Hitchcocks lifeboat and it looked like a case hunter he was using to amputate a leg,but I'm not sure.
 
I don't know if this can be considered traditional. From the last episode of "Yellowstone", the pocke knife belonging to Thomas Rainwater, apparently with turquoise handle.
