traditional knives in movies

For me to get my wife to that point I would have to agree to watching project runway a few evenings a week with her,all with out me injecting my personal thoughts, and that is just not happening.

She insists that I watch her favorites with her, such as The Bachelor, but I am given free reign to make all the comments I want. And I take full advantage of that freedom.

I was watching this one again — it always makes the Christmas movie list — and I noticed a detail that I hadn’t before. The total cost for these three items that Kevin buys at the toy store was $23.75.

Now I was 7 years old when the movie came out, so I won’t pretend to know/remember the price of a SAK in the early 90s. But assuming the map and the thing of slime each cost at least a buck or two, that makes the price of the Wenger Champ less than $20, which seems like quite a bargain!
Sorry-mistakenly hit comment on this and couldn’t delete😬

I don't know the movie and it sounds terrible, but I came across this DVD cover art and instantly recognized this overly sharpened Imperial H7.

Everybody knows the H6 and similar but slightly nicer knives like the Kutmaster sportsman , but the H7 with fish scaler spine is a little bit less common.
Still common, just not as much.

I'll bet this knife was worn down like this when they acquired it, like many Imperial knives they were treated as the kind of knife you'd buy at the dime store use up and replace.

In Conagher, Conagher is shown sharpening a pocket knife which appears to be a Barlow or Jack, using a small arkansas stone.

Here, millionaire... Gérard Depardieu...and sidekick Patrick Dewaere play the proletarian or rather the anti-social thug in Les Valseuses (1973) Going Places. Using what looks like an Opinel No.8 to slice open the roof of a Citroen 2CV they want to steal in a field under the nose of an enraged farmworker in a combine. This is something of a 'cult' film but never been to my taste, this is just one of their vulgar loutish pranks largely at the expense of defenceless or underprivileged people , bravo!

Anyone have a pic of the knife used by John Wayne in the move The Searchers? Couldn’t find the movie knife thread so try the traditional thread. There is a knife up for sale in the exchange under makers knives, very cool. Very similar to Ed Martin’s Searcher Bowie.

I couldn’t find the movie streaming anywhere (at least not without paying to rent or buy it), but I looked through a couple clips on YouTube and found this. Not a great look and I can’t really say if it’s the same knife or not, but take a look for yourself.

I just started reading the book "The Searchers" that the movie was based on tonight.

I'm looking for a replica of the Bowie knife that Baby Firefly used in "3 From Hell". I couldn't find anything online, I'm kind of surprised. It was a sweet looking Bowie that played a significant role in the movie. The knife throwing scene in Mexico is awesome!
