Traditional mug shots

Digging around in my photo's I came upon this...

On the beautiful Island of Curacao last year ( nice scuba diving there )

Nice to see so many fellow feline fancyers

Yep, got some kitties as well. Here's Mike at rest. Notice what's on the monitor.

I have five others - Pacer, Bonnie, Penny, Bear, and Cinco. And a lab, Maggie.

Then:

Mike is getting his Bladeforums, Traditional fix pretty early today....

And here is Bear, doing what he does second best - looking for something to meddle with...

This is Cinco, after she jumped my claim on the recliner...

Next is Bonnie...

Now that's what I call "putting a face to a name." Thanks for the follow-up. :)

Finally found that photo of Pacer I wanted to post. Her eyes are so striking, like liquid gold...

Wow, you're right. I'm glad you found the picture.

As with any of the people dear to me, I wish the camera would more often (ever?) capture what I see when I look at the animals I love-- all that is in their eyes.

Looks like you came close with that last shot!

Crime Dog with Shelby Foote's The Civil War: A Narrative.

He's a book hound, he is...You'll find he has very eclectic interests if you study the titles...

Yes, it would seem to so. Fair to assume MAMMALS are of particular interest to him? ;)

The tasty ones, especially...

...The funny thing is that he has an understanding with the rabbits and deer on our property. They know he won't attack but a game of tag is always fun...

Good stuff, James. Looks like a handful in that second image.:cool:

I guess Smoky, being a German breed, should have had a "Kaiser" helmet but the "Bobby" helmet given to me by Scotland Yard was the best I've got.

He's a handful, for sure. About eight months old and somewhere around ninety pounds.

Wow! Is he supposed to get much bigger?

Smoky's gonna be nine years old and weighs in at exactly 90 lbs as of yesterday on the vet's scale. I always carry him out of the back of the Explorer to keep him from possibly jumping on to glass in the parking lot...I told him I don't plan on doing that a lot so he better start eating more carrots. :p

We think he's a cross between a Kangal Dog and maybe a Great Pyrenees, so I'm betting between 120 and 140 lbs.

I'm taking this photo down since I did not get permission from the others pictured to post it on a public forum.

Edited to say, I reposted the picture on the next page.

Wow ! Three generations of men. That is very special. I won't be able to do that until my son, now 33, has a son, which doesn't look like any time soon.

Until I hear back from my dad and son about using their images in this post, here is one my son took of me at our favorite Asheville coffee shop last Tuesday.

I don't take many pics, but here's one from back in September when I did the Bushido Sushi challenge in Charleston. Ain't a purdy.

I appreciate your consideration for them (but am admittedly glad I caught a glimpse of the picture while it was up ;)). Regardless, I'm glad to finally see what you look like. :)

Last year at this time, my own, then-almost-20-year-old son asked for a pocket knife for his birthday. That simple request led me to solicit recommendations and research further online. In doing so I found BladeForums, and continued reading and looking further once I'd picked out a knife for him. And thus my own interest in pocketknives was reignited.

It's been quite a year, as my Tray o' Happiness will attest.

My son doesn't know quite what to think of what his birthday wish precipitated in me(!).

He'll be 21 soon. When he was home for Thanksgiving, I asked him if there was anything in particular he wanted for his birthday...?

We both stared at each other, mindful of what happened last time: the Knife Situation.

I added, laughing, "Uhhh... choose wisely."

:)

LOL, Indeed!! He chose wisely last year though and we are now blessed to have you with us here. A good thing!

That same thing happened to me years ago with my RC modeling. But I didn't have the internet at that time or it might have been much worse. He hasn't caught onto the knife thing though.

I look forward to what tomorrow will bring. You never know what is around the corner.

+1 for what Ed said

Just hope he doesn't want a watch, I did the same thing you did when looking for information on a simple wind up watch. Then I discovered watch forums, uh-oh :D
