I have to get my camera. I love sodbuster Month!

I'm carrying the TLAR sodbuster by Keith Johnson. A slightly clipped blade on this one.

I'll not be carrying it all the time but I'll carry my #71 in place of my #73 this month. This will be my 3 knife combo for the month.

I've got an '06 Case fullsize in stainless. I'm not worried about it surviving after what I've put her through () but I am a bit worried that I won't be able to survive without my nutty companion.

I like the well used look of that one. I never owned a sodbuster, I always used a Opinel #9, which I always considered the original Sodbuster, or at least the French version, I know there are old German versions.

My Soddie justs sits in its water/soap bath for cleaning, sharping and oiling... It came out of the toolbox, back to the EDC rotation :)

Pics following ;)

Kind regards
Andi

I've used it hard and it had a hard life before I got it. Found it at an antique shop for a few bucks, a while back. I saw it laying there amongst a pile junk and had to rescue it. It was quite dirty but with a well earned spa treatment it turned into a distinguished old soddie. Holds a edge well, and is now quite sharp, but it does have a much thicker blade than a Opinel.

I'll keep an eye out for one at the flea market, the TOTM has been lucky for me, first month Kabar peanut, 2nd small Schrade stockman, 3rd Camillus Barlow, so maybe 4th ill find a sodbuster to try out.

After some cleaning, sharping and oiling job

I've been carrying my GEC Red Neck Bull Nose for a week or so already, but I've kept it oiled and polished. I'm not ready for it to get a patina just yet. I should receive a Case Sodbuster Jr in yellow and CV tomorrow though, which I plan to let get all nasty and stained. I might pick up a Queen Country Cousin later this month. I think I'd prefer the pointier blade of the Queen.
