Nice!
rockgolfer , I'm still curios about prizes that have been claimed and what's left.
Good question. I presumed it would be a kind of knife meant to pry out shells that didn't extract but then I searched and didn't see anything like that.So what is a shell grabber? I have never heard of such a knife. I had the gun, but no idea what a shell grabber is.
Who has a shell grabber? Is that even a traditional knife?
Ya, I don't care about the prizes other than I donated a couple and was wondering if anybody has won them yet. Also, I think others may have donated prizes and I was curious as to what they were. At this point, with all the winners, I was also curious if there were any prizes left. Since I'm not actually competing for prizes, it was mostly just curiosity. What? There are prizes? I guess you have to stump everyone first.....
I knew exactly what you meant, but didn't have either one.I have some. They are very traditional. They are also called shell pullers. They are used to pull out a shell when it gets stuck. This can happen with loads due to excessive swelling, or when the ejectors and extractors get worn and slip over the rim of the cartridge. They are still common in Europe and countries where ejectors are still not built into every shotgun. They have been around 100 years. I didn't post something I expected to be that hard, and (as I've said in this thread before) I won't ask for something I can't do myself.
Here's a pic for those who still don't know:
