That's a good idea!I think that when you are done,,Get a picture of yourself standing next to the stump hold the knife,,,Maybe send Kershaw a copy,,,maybe they could put it on the website...Its a huge feat,,,I look forward to your progress
It might be to late....Don't get Carpal Tunnel now.....
Haha, that's probably what it is thinking.Tree- "What the F are you doing? That tickles!"
It's still in pretty good shape. A little bit of chipping at the tip, but it's barely noticeable. There's also some rolled edges, but that's a little bit more normal, especially when you're chopping down a tree. The first half of the blade is still paper cutting sharp, but that's because it's kind of hard to chop with that portion if the blade.Great pics of the tree. Looks like progress is being made, but there's obviously quite a bit of chopping still in your future. What does the Skyline look like at this point? How's the edge holding up?
Sorry to say it, but the tree looks like a pecan to me. In otherwords, its a hardwood. Like another member said, a lanyard and some improved technique could go a long ways to make your job a lot easier.
What kind of lanyard were you trying to put on your knife? I was thinking you could make a lanyard out of some para cord. Make a nice thick lanyard so you have something really grab hold of.
If you don't have any para cord laying around, send me your address and I'll drop some in mail to you.
Oh, and super glue actually could be one of the best things for your cut. I'm in the restaurant business, and over half the time I send someone to the ER with a cut they come back with it glued together. It burns like mad, but holds way better than a bandaid. If superglue won't hold it, you need stitches.
