I'm very sad to have to report that Sheffield cutler Trevor Ablett passed away last Tuesday, 14th October 2015. Trevor was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, and retired after a life-long career making pocket knives.

Jack

I am sorry to hear about your friend. His legacy lives on through his blades, and stories. I will kick back a cider in his memory tonight.

Very sad news. Great cutlers like Trevor are taking their skills to the grave with them. There's a new breed of skilled cutlers out there, that's for sure, but they sure don't make them like Trevor anymore...

My condolences, Jack. Thanks for letting us know.

So sad to here this about such a great sheffield cutlerer. He will never be forgotten through his achievements he has made in his lifetime.

That is something I was suspecting to be close, but that does not prevent me from being very sad. One more piece of history disappeared.
At least his souvenir will live in the many knives he made. So long Old Man!

The world seems diminished without him. I'm sorry for your loss, Jack, and for all our losses. May he rest in peace.

My condolences for your loss Jack. I can only wonder how many of his knives will be floating around in pockets or collections as small monuments to the man, for generations to come?

He left a great mark in the world of cutlery! Many people will dead-head their roses or harvest a few for the table, with one of his knives! They will do it for years in the future for that matter.
I will carry this knife in his honor tomorrow -
