Trio Thursday

Very nice goober, that's an excellent trio for some spoon carving. Always wanted to visit Holland and attend a PSV match where many of my favorite players in the past have played :)

Thanks, I decided to leave the spoon for another day and started on a wooden Bushboot and a netting needle instead yesterday though.

I didn't finish anything though, I was pretty tired and crawled in the tent soon after I grilled some porck-shops on the fire (the wine probably didn't help neither, lol). I did get some hot-spot from the sharp edges on the butt of the knife though. On my convexed one the edges on the side of the butt of the knife are slightly chamfered but unfortunately they didn't do with on the scandi.

It does look good imo, but it's not all that comfortable. I'll see if I can work around it by slightly altering my grips but if not I'll contact Andy for some tips so I can round it off myself a bit.

Haha, how does an American even know about a club like PSV? I don't care about soccer at all myself, but when I was younger & was forced to watch it (I'm exaggerating of course) PSV was the team I disliked the least. Ruud Gullit was still playing for them back then, and Marco van Basten too if I remember correctly.

That's a pretty good idea, would love to see the finished product of the carved bushboot. I just love football in general, and for my generation, there were lot of great players who played well for PSV and went on to other leagues to continue their success (e.g. ronaldo, van nistelrooy, vam bommel, robben, etc.). I also had couple of Dutch friends from work right out of university, so got to learn the culture a bit.

Ah, gotcha

If I can finish it before it falls a part I'll post it up in the carving thread when it's done. This wood cracks pretty easily, I already chipped a bit of the butt so far but I think it's still salvageable.

Really nice coke bottle handle on this camp and the grind is gorgeous!

The bass is for sale so it was in the photoshoot

so amazing. Love he KPH... never should have let it go. And GB is the best! Super nice.

The osage actually glows, I haven't been able to capture that on my camera.
It's not a waxy sort of glow from the finish, it comes out of the grain like quilted maple.
