Trio Thursday

Trio Thursday, excellent idea!

Time to take the pants off:

I love hand made tools!!!!! I need a hump knife to go into the Trio!!!!!!!
Edit: I love hand made tools that work great and are beautiful!

Man, that is just absolutely gorgeous!! I so want one of these small double bits one day!

If I ever locate a replacement handle for a boys axe, I'll have my trio going right. A friend gifted me an old head, but so far all I can find here are full size axe handles...

Tennessee Hickory has 24-28" boys handles listed, but they state hatchet handles are also available. There are some FleaBay stores that I have used for full sized handles (One NEW 18" Single Bit Axe Handle. May Fit: Hudson Bay Style (Norlund, Collins, Snow & Nealley, and Council) House Axe/ Boys Axe or Hatchet Handle. Wood & Metal Wedges Included. Approx. eye size 1-3/4" x 5/8" * American Hickory! Made in the USA. NO. 10218 or 10219) that will have hatchet handles as well. I'm confident that you can find one that suits somewhere on the web.

Thanks man, much appreciated! I was hoping to support a local store, but started thinking I'd have to go online to find one. I'll check out Tennessee Hickory...isn't that ironic lol

work has kept me bogged down, but i have a few configs i'll get up later today. I find it ironic that prior to collecting FBF, I used to rock a spyderco, leatherman wave, and bow saw -- now I have all of these swank trios to test out this season; I'm especially interested in seeing how my two 'muk trio will fare (camp + regular). Pics coming. Seperately while on axes & hatchets, I'm interested in grabbing a council tool velvi-cut hudson bay axe; does anyone have experience w/ council tool? I've heard good things!

I have no first hand experience with them, but I have read a lot of good things, and nothing bad. My recollection is that they are fairly priced, so even if it does not work well for you in your application, the risk is not great.

From what I have been told, Council is about the best fair priced and good quality US axe maker left.

Very nice trio thurin. I went traditional this Thursday except for a hump back. Future Thursday's will contain various axes and choppers (no Fiddleback chopper, yet) and Fiddlebacks. I just wanted y'all to know that I own a slipjoint knife.

Cool trios bonafide and McVeyMac. It's nice to see all the variety.

Pitch black outside so poor lighting on the workbench will have to do:

Large :D(one of the mid sized saws though):

LOL, I have an MS340 and an MS210 I was thinking of putting on here this AM. That made me laugh.

Yea, neither of my saws are clean. I am thinking of getting rid of the 210 and getting the 262. I use this saw mainly for limbing and bucking up limbs. Much lighter and easier to use all day. But it is a finicky saw. It actually gets more running time than the 340. Going up to a small pro is where I think I need to go with this one. The 262 will be heavier, but this saw gets a lot of use. At 57 y.o., I really like a light saw for this kind of work. But I hate breaking down when I'm in the middle of limbs, ruins the whole day.

Never had an issue with our Stihls. The MS260 in the picture has never once stopped without running out of gas and it has been used hard on the farm and in our mountain forests for years. Great saw, I'd recommend getting one without any extras as it saves weight, money and there is less that can go wrong ;)

Cool bunch of Trios there NoFair! Way to mix it up. I can't pick a favorite out of those.

This is going to be my spring threesome. My hunter used to be my go to blade, but she took off with some guy from Norway. It's "no fair" I tell you. 40cal Glock 22 BTW.
