Trolling, trolling: Manix II CTS- XHP

Thank you for confirming that. It's not a language issue. It's a "Northbound end of a Southbound mule" issue. It's a good thing the world has experts like you sir. I'm certainly not worthy.

I see a lot of word manipulators, who have no any practical experience and do not really need to know what they are talking about.
This phrase is jewel -
..."based solely on what I use them for, in the environment I use them in, sharpened in the way I sharpen them on the schedule I sharpen them"...

Well let me spell it out for you then, since you seem to be unable to comprehend. "based solely on what I use them for"......I use knives for the mundane everyday tasks that everyone else probably does. I open mail with them, I cut day to day items that need to be cut with them. I also have cut people in car crashes out of seatbelts with them, I have cut people down that have hung themselves with rope, cord, wire, shirts, etc. with them. I've put a deer "out of its misery" after it got hit by a car and we were unable to shoot it to do so because it was on asphalt and concrete, and there was a danger with all the traffic and bystanders around. Have you done any of those things? I'm sure you've used a knife for things I haven't as well (of course I'm equally as sure you'll manipulate what I've written to fit your own convoluted view on this..who's the manipulator?).

"in the environment I use them in"
I use them in Eastern Pennsylvania. You're in California. I'm pretty positive the environment you use them in is different than the environment I use them in, and visa versa.

"sharpened in the way I sharpen them on the schedule I sharpen them"
I'm willing to bet that you and I use different sharpeners, probably set at different angles, using different stones, with a different number of strokes per side, using different pressure applied to the stone, etc. etc. etc.

so yes, "based solely on what I use them for, in the environment I use them in, sharpened in the way I sharpen them, on the schedule I sharpen them" If you are too dense to understand that, or are too manipulative, just as you're taking what I said earlier and trying to somehow twist it into "boycott Spyderco", I can't help you. I'm sure you're going to reply with another gem. Go to it. You'll get the last word in, and you'll win. Enjoy you're Manix II CTS-XHP. I'll probably be selling mine.

You know Vassili, that's all any of us can do, including you. To make a statement that " X steel , or knife is best" just makes the person making that statement look like a know nothing kid. All we can do is talk about what we like best for our own needs. Why do you think you get laughed at so much? Do you think you won the "lets pick on..... lottery." No explanations about that should be necessary as it's so obvious to anybody with knowledge and experience..

So, we have one guy who says his results are based on his uses, his sharpening, his needs...

...and we have another guy who consistently insults and disparages anyone who doubts his claim to be the sole arbiter of facts, claims that only he has TRVTH :foot: and that the world is engaged in a giant conspiracy against him... :barf:

...the second guy must think he is The Prophet, or must believe in little Red Books or Green Books...

...but I know who I'll listen to.

I honestly stopped posting questions about steels and testing in general because of what happens in this thread. It's not worth the trouble, I'll just read and draw my own conclusions based on what the friendlier testers (Ankerson, Knarfeng, Mastiff, etc.), metallurgists (Mete), and makers say (Sal etc.).

Yes this is what I am talking. You do not use knife to the same extent I do or still unlike most people who also do not use knife too much like to participate in this discussion pretending you are have some expertize - your use simple can not show which steel has better edge retention then other. It is probably more then most "experts" here but does not impress me at all.

I did quite a bit a manila rope cutting in controlled environment and this is what my conclusion based on.

And again I see quite a big words without too much behind - "probably set at different angles, using different stones, with a different number of strokes per side, using different pressure applied to the stone, etc. etc. etc.". You simple has nothing to say but quite desperate to say something for whatever reason.

Thanks, Vassili.

Vassilly, wow. You have single handedly destroyed a thread I've enjoyed reading for days. Just wanted to say thanks for nothing as I have gained absolutely nothing from all your rants.

Has anyone else performed a side by side cutting test with the XHP vs M4 yet?

Yeah I have, M4 will hold an edge a lot longer than XHP, but M4 isn't stainless and harder to sharpen while XHP is stainless so there would be some trade off as with most things.

Both are good steels though.

That's his MO. And that's why he's been banned from so many other forums.

Really? I like to know from what forums I was banned. I am not aware of any.
I do not think you know what are you talking about, as well.

Thanks, Vassili.

Mastiff said you were banned from "several" forums, including a Russian language one. I do not know which. I thought you were banned from Spyderco's site forum, but I forgot you left of your own accord, after getting spanked on your naughty behind by TazKristy and Michael Janich after your petulant hissy fit. They don't seem to miss you in your absence there.

This is another great example how this works. I was not banned. So you do not know what you are talking about. Same happens with steel and everything else. Twisting words, facts - everything... Creating Imaginary World, which has nothing to do with reality.

This spanked by TazKristy is also not true, she pretty good and respectful moderator. Yes Janich did some remarks disrespectful to my national origin, it was disrespectful remarks, which I can not answer due to his Moderator position, Sal support Janich and so I leave that forum, because I can not do anything abut that and can not tolerate that. But I was not spanked. As well as "petulant hiss" was actually complain to moderator about disrespectful remarks, again based on my national origin - Janich deside to act as moderator and just repeat that remarks again to my face, Sal support him - I am not going to Spyderco forum any more and do not recommend to do this to other Russians. This is about yous "spanking/hissing" dreams.

Different from the way I remember it happening but bringing another forums problems here is not tolerated. I'll let it go. :)

On talks.guns.ru last I saw you got two warnings(for continuing rants 5 pages after everyone stopped talking to you) and several members were asking for your ban, because of your rants. On your site you have prety much identical complaints about KF, talks.guns.ru, spydeco forums and BF, all the same, that some shady people have control of each forum and try to suppress the truth coming form you.

So, as far as your MO goes, it's pretty clear. You pick up fights with everyone and anyone, preferably respected and well known members, and then demand apologies, accompanied with very unrelated "because I am Russian" stuff. At least on talks.guns.ru everyone was against you not because of your heritage, but because what you are. There was no language barrier from either side there and frankly, the language you used there would get you banned here, and the treatment you received fro mother members was also far worse than here. Can't blame that on cultural differences either.

P.S. Neither Janich, nor any other member made comments based on your nationality, it was your behavior that was commented on.

Guys, everyone is arguing way to much over steels, grinds, this test, that test, and bla bla bla! Lets enjoy the knives for what they are! They are knives. "Noun: A cutting instrument composed of a blade and a handle into which it is fixed, either rigidly or with a joint." Any knife that gets used is gonna have to be sharpened sooner or later! It's kinda like have different sports cars and worring so much about which one has better gas in it or which one has the better tires on it to enjoy the DRIVE itself! All these steels Spyderco is using are excellent steels and will hold an edge plenty well for any task to which a knife is supposed to be used. Its kinda like the old saying "You can't see the FOREST for all the trees!"

I always thought it was...you can't see the forest threw the trees. Anyways ,my 1990 civic will blow your lambo out the water anyday. Jk jk jk I own a dodge pickup:D:D:D

Does anyone else find it amusing that people are still posting on a thread labeled "trolling, trolling" which was set up by a moderator for shaming purposes?
