Bagged one of these today, put up a hell of a fight but thank goodness I had my GSO 3.5 with me.

Beautiful buck Hard Knocks! Here is a archery buck a couple years back,

I like that mossy-horn buck there HM. One of the bonuses of bow hunting :) One of my employees drew an Eastern Oregon tag last fall, we're right on the OR/ID border and he's an Oregon resident. He killed a nice big buck during rifle and it still had velvet on, I was kind of surprised as it was in October.

Here's a rag-horn five point bull from a season or two ago

and a better bull I killed in the same area a few years back

Nice bulls!! I love those pics in the snow! Beautiful looking country over there. It's thick over here. And yes, lots of bears! This one looks big in the pic but it's around 275-300 pounds.

Three hundred and above definitely aren't around every bush, congrats man. You must be west of the Cascades. I'm right on the breaks of mountain/desert. Sage at home, but heavy timber 20 minutes away.

I'm a little east of the cascades, about 50 miles from the desert. It's thick timber here at home. We do most our bear hunting over by the coast. I have a bunch of bear pics. That was the only one I had on this computer. I absolutely love bear hunting! I love hunting in the sage brush too but it's really hard to draw some of those east side tags for deer, antelope and elk.

I sure hear you on the heartaches of trying to draw tags. Of course there are a lot of general hunts here, but it's been over ten years since I've drawn one of the more coveted tags. I dearly love Oregon, have lived in Brookings, Gresham, Hood River. Deer hunted all over Mount Hood, White River area, Florence and Crater Lake, and chased elk around Heppner. Ran bobcats and called coyote out of Juntura and Riverside, heck over most of eastern Oregon, such a wonderful part of the world. But I grew up hunting hounds, and when Oregon banned that I had to find some new hunting ground, so am an Idaho boy once again, ha! :) I'm loving the pics, and as long as you guys are willing to post, I'm willing to look!! :) :D

Texas, it sounds like you'd enjoy a trip out sometime. I think we all dream about other places and adventures. I know I've day-dreamed more than once about Texas whitetails, javelinas and hogs. Shoot, I think they even let you fellas 'light for predators down there if I'm not mistaken. :)

I need to upload some more recent stuff, but here's a treed bear left to run again from a few seasons back

Dragging a pile of dogs back to the truck when they'd rather stay at the tree is always a good time. Luckily my buddy was willing to help by taking pictures, ha!

Very cool! That's a great reason to move to Idaho! I have never been hunting with dogs. I know a few guys over here that run dogs and heard a lot of great stories from them. Great pics!

When it goes right, you just can't beat it. Other times....... :) But I love it. These are coonhounds Riz, Treeing Walkers.

I kinda feel like I'm hogging the thread so I'll sit back enjoy the show for awhile :D

Yes i spot light hogs, there bad here. Coyotes are plentiful too but i dont hunt them unless there fooling with the cattle. I cant wait to get my 7/7 to knife hunt a good hog. I probably wont get that chance till winter. Hog meat aint so good during the warm months. They still get hunted year round cause they destroy the property, but they get fed to the scavengers.

Lol, its different. Yea its for sure not like a farm raised pig. Not like deer or elk that taste good without seasoning. But if prepared right it can be really good. My father and i process all our own meat. Its very gamey, and if you get one when its hot out it will get a funky taste to it. (it can be gotten rid of but we dont bother we have plenty stock piled) They dont have sweat glands, and play in filth on a daily basis. I love making smoke links and breakfast sausage out of them though. All this talk of pork products is making me hungry. I think im bout to make momma_toothpick breakfast in bed.
