Trout success giveaway

I just went flyfishing for the first time this last weekend. I went to the Deschutes here in Oregon. Caught 3 of the smallest trout ever and had the best time of my life.
Anyway my guess is a wulff, maybe a lime?

Well the Yellow Humpy was my #3 producer. I'm not sure why, but it is kind of a "go to" fly for me. Seems to work, ever when it shouldn't. Excellent guess.

LOL. I might have to find a prize for that. But no. There is a pattern called a "San Juan Worm" that is essentially a nightcrawler-piece of yarn tied to a hook. They work too. But I didn't resort to that.

Hoppers were my #2 pattern. (I'm going to break my rule here and lump all Hoppers together because I used 3 different hopper patterns.) One warm day in a more open area the Hoppers were hopping. The only fish pic I got was of this little guy:

Good pic Brew, and a great fly. Has worked for me in deep water for big browns. But didn't use it this trip.

Guys -- I gotta go earn some more tippet money. I'll check back at the end of the day. Great guesses so far and I've learned about a couple of patterns that are worth trying. Thanks for the great participation. The winner is still out there!
 
If grasshoppers were working then I'll guess black ants were too. Today's guess is the flying black ant.

I love to fish but have almost zero experience with fly fishing (although my wife got me a fly tying kit for my birthday that I am looking forward to trying out).

I don't even know if this is something that would work for the various trout species (I would guess for those vicious browns) but my guess for today is the Clouser Minnow

The only fly I have personally tied...standard black ant...all I needed was a small hook and black thread.

I'm just going to guess the one that works the best for me - a bead head epoxy-backed scud. Man, I love those things. Thanks for the opportunity!
