Looks good, but no. I may actually have one of those in a fly box......:o

dipbait, you'll have to shoot me the source...I've got a lake of bluegills about 50 feet from my front door:D

ROCK6

I dont know where to get them now. I picked them up at an old Tempo store. They were in a kit with a bunch of other flies.

How about a Trude dry fly?

Royal Trude is a cool fly, but I don't fish it much. I'm not sure I even have one. :grumpy:

I've tried to tie Royal Coachmen, but they are trickier than they look. I do like a Royal Coachman or Wulff.

But nothing from the "Royal line" was used for the whole trip.

I've picked some up at a local Fly Shop. Bet Orvis or Cabella's has 'em.

I saw footage of Lee Wulff tying a Royal Wulff in his fingertips (they were like a vice, even in his golden years) as he did so, he explained that he came up with the pattern cause he was hungry and the brown hackle reminded him of chocolate, the crimson body reminded him of strawberry etc..

I love Lee Wulff.

Griffiith's gnat.

Sometimes a size 20 or 22 Griffith's is the one thing that will work when nothing else does; but i didn't try it this trip. I've had great luck with the Griffith's and it's easy to tie. Always one or two in my Fly box.

I'll give her another shot tomorrow. Hey try tying the Griffith's Gnat with a fluorescent orange tag about a third the way down into the hook bend.
