TSPROF K03 users?

I sharped 5 knives on the TSPROF now and it's great.

Before selling the Hapstone I took it out of the box to confirm all the parts are there, and checked out the design. It's really pretty nice! And it has one thing that I think is nicer than the TSPROF which is that the bushing that the arm travels through has ball bearings so it's sooo smooth. The TSPROF isn't bad, but the R2 is smoother.

Yep, you can't go wrong with either of them. Both Hapstone and TSPROF units are excellent quality, definitely some of the best on the market.

Still can't beat the Hapstone R2's value for money. They really give you a product that's worth a lot more than the price you pay for it in my option.

Do yourself a favor and sharpen a few knives on your Hapstone before you sell it, I think you're going to be surprised at how nice it it.

Wow! Didn't know that. You're right that bearings would be great on TSProf. That said, they are constantly modifying things over there, so don't be surprised if you see a bearing upgrade kit.

Yeah the funny thing is that the R2 is louder because the bearings make a rolling sound. And it's not like there is zero friction to move the rod.. But it's a little easier than on the tsprof and it's more consistent friction with no feeling of stickiness.

So smother but noisier. Pick your poison.

Powdered graphite helps cut the noise dramatically.

You mean on the Hapstone, right?

Do you if that works well on the K03 also? I put a few drops of oil and it helped but it's still not as smooth as I'd like.

Yes mate the hapstone, don't know about the K03. You can but graphite sticks from art supply stores and grind it up into a really fine powder, or you can buy it in a spray can and just spray it on and let it cure for 24 hours. Instead of oil, which can be a bit thick, i have used WD40 it is much better than oil in the experiments i have done. Either will work, the guide rod runs smoother and a lot more quite. Experiment and see what works best for you, hope this helps.

I just ordered a Hapstone R2 with Venev diamond stones to take advantage of their black friday sale. Can't wait.

Gosh I hope TSProf doesn't also go on sale now too and I end up with both. FML. hahaha
How do you like the Hapstone R2? I have the K03 and the Blitz 360 with the pro upgrade...

I'm thinking of buying a TSPROF K03, and selling my KME. K03 users on here? What do you think of it?

I don't hate the KME, but I never bonded with it. I mostly don't love the ergonomics of holding it in one hand while sharpening.

I am also looking forward to the following on the K03

- Longer arm will be more convenient for larger kitchen knives, and have things get less weird when you get to the curved tip
- Longer arm will also make it easier to get the arm out of the way when flipping large knives
- Bench mounted will be ergonomic for me
- Micro adjust makes it easy to set the angle, particularly if you're using stones that aren't identical in width

Think I'll like it?
I've got a KO3 Pro Hunter and it comes with their AxiCube attachment. I can dial in an exact angle very easily. Another option is the Wicked Edge Gen 3 Pro. I have mine for sale because I lost the use of my left arm. It' in almost new condition and has several extras.
Link to offsite sale removed, read the site/Exchange rules.
