Finishing out the year showing a few more Tuna Valley knives. This is the newest one to my collection, the last of the Phoenix Jack releases. This one in Gaboon Ebony wood with Raindrop Damascus blade.

The last one is this unique 1 piece prototype. It is called the "Pathfinder" and was built on the Phoenix Jack frame. This was a test to try out some possibilities for future runs, including: a small recessed EO to reach the nail pull, fluted/lined bolsters, laser etching on the blade, compass insert in the handle, and a different type of handle material (in this case, compressed hemp wood).

Where do you when find these knives! That's an interesting one.
I emailed them about distributors that ship to Australia because I was really interested in getting one but they never wrote back.

I love the ebony. It is such a great looking handle material. But paired with the Damascus is even better.

The prototypes usually aren't sold openly, except maybe in person at knife shows. But all the regular releases are sold through the network of dealers they have listed on their website. I'm not sure how many of them ship international though.

Beautiful jigged redbone on that one. I really like the 4 blade cigar design with slanted lined bolsters, they were quite classy.

It's been a little while, so I figure maybe I should show a few more Tuna knives that haven't made an appearance in this thread yet.

This is a prototype of the EO Teardrop knives that were released in 2016. This one has a nice hunk of burnt stag on it.

Here's a neat one to show. This is all the amber stag Tuna knives I have (current as of Aug 31, 2024). These range from 2012-2024, made by GEC, Queen or DFKB.

I was able to have this Tuna Valley knife made in the Phoenix Jack pattern as a prototype, using the same red birdseye maple handles that I had on my SFO maple syrup knife last year. I really enjoy this one. Only 1 ever made.

Thank you both. I am toying with the idea of doing another SFO knife using the red birdseye maple handles again. I just need to come up with the upfront investment, and also find a pattern that works for me.

The first one, yes I piggybacked off something already in production. I haven't talked yet to anyone about what my next options are.

Another one I haven't shown here before. The Phoenix Jack pattern, a prototype with burnt American Elk antler handles. It actual does have a similar appearance to sambar stag.
