Awesome pic Kirkwood! I've got a Blood Red Radio Jack on the way thanks to a dear friend here and am DYING to see it and put it to work! I'll have to pick up a 6-pack of my favorite beer to put it to the test when it arrives :)

A couple of days ago, I had to test the crown popper. But the days are long gone when I could down a half-a-dozen long necks, especially IPAs! So I acquired a capper, to recap my empty bottle. This knife popped them off so smoothly, no double-pops necessary, that I got bored real quick . . . GEC's re-engineering is a success IMO!! Tonight, it proved itself again. . .

Sorry about the cell-phone pic.
Jack and Duncan, that jar of Marmite is almost empty! I have used it to fortify some gravy, and I spread/drizzle a little on my breakfast toast, with almond butter 3-4 times a week. I may start speaking with a different accent!!
:D

What was the re-engineering? I know the caplifter was altered a tiny bit, but did the first version have any issues? Why the change? Curious!

The caplifters on the #85 pattern got a few complaints, although most had no trouble. Mine would miss, requiring an extra "pop" every once in a while. GEC improved it on the "boy's" Radio knife, and improved it again slightly, on the UN-X-LD. This one pictured above, has yet to miss the first "pop".

It's amazing the number of little details that go into making supposedly simple knives! I am always in awe that they come out so well. When a person can carry around a 100 year old knife, and it does what it is supposed to do . . . .it boggles!
I'm only 69, and I don't always do what I am supposed to do! Ask the missus!
:D

Ah ok, thanks for the details of it's evolution. It's always interesting to hear about the amazing process of your creations :)
