Turn Your Radio On!

Yeah Arizona I am with you-this is looking just awesome!...gotta go, nice going to all involved in this project! - What a huge amount of work!

Charlie,

It is almost worth the price of admission just to be able to enjoy your prose when removing one of these darlings from their tube. Very nice touch.

The blood red is going to make such a great companion for my blood red diamond jack! I can't pass on the ebony though. This might be the first time I purchase multiples of a pattern at once. I've been trying to force myself to choose one of each but, I don't think I can hold back on these.

Thanks for the nice words, Jamie!

The Blood Red should be out of the dye, and drying by now, JustSome!

Yep, I have a 2-blade #79 in Blood Red bone and it's just gorgeous, def my favorite color bone. It's got an elegance to it!

Ha, ha! I like them!:D

Ahem, back to more serious stuff - - - -

Here is a picture of some Diamond shields I have managed to accumulate.
I notice they tend toward the smaller sizes - not all - but they have managed to keep the stampings. I thought I had one that was partly worn off, but maybe I was dreaming . .
The <unXld> is larger by comparison, (bottom two knives) so tougher to retain with full detail when sanding/polishing.

Wow Charlie I never realized the Diamond 48 was modeled after the DE... Very cool! Beautiful!

right, these guys are cool retro dudes.. check out a blurb from GEC's site about Northfield

http://greateasterncutlery.net/blog/about/about-our-brands/
"NORTHFIELD
The original Northfield Knife Company was incorporated and operated in Connecticut from 1858 to 1926. Their UN-X-LD Branded knives are highly collectable today. In 2006 Great Eastern Cutlery registered the unused Northfield UN-X-LD trademark, strictly to be used on only the most premium GEC traditional pocket knives. These new classic UN-X-LD knives have all the intricate cosmetic tooling and finishing you would expect to see on well made early 1900′s era pocket knives. The back springs and blades are strictly made with 1095 carbon steel, with all the blades stamp marked and finished to a mirror polish. The master blades are fitted with forged straight nail pulls and cut swaging. All the bolsters are coined and typically decorated with dimples, lines and angeled cuts. The handle covers are processed here at the GEC Bone Works and are of exotic materials such as India Stag Antler, Wooly Mammoth Ivory, Cocobolo Wood, Snake Wood, and North American Cattle Shin Bone with intricately cut textured surfaces. The new Northfield UN-X-LD knives rival the orginals in materials and craftsmanship. They are always made in limited quantities with a portion of each run being serialized. Because of their quality and value they have become the most collectable factory knife made today."

Thanks for the link Jonathan. Yes, the Northfields are my passion! I just love these old classics and am so thankful for GEC's masterful resurrection of these amazing pocket knives of 100 years ago.

The first one in someone's hands!!
I can't get mine until Tuesday!! Grrrr . . . .:grumpy:
Thanks for the pic, Barry!

Oh boy, that's a beautiful etch on there, Barry and congrats Charlie, on another hit!

The spearpoint looks fantastic Charlie. Thank you for making this happen. I've craved the spear with the opener since GEC debuted the Radio.
