Well, here is the story. I was drawn in by Rolf who spoke very highly of you. I REALLY like some of your designs. If I got a "dirty satin" I would want to "fix" it. I am not much for an "unfinished" knife. Now, if it was a "dirty satin" that was uniform then I would be cool with that. I have certain things that I want in a knife. I can be a nitpicky person so you are right, maybe your not my guy??? I know you can put a satin finish, why not if requested? You can always pull a Busse and charge for the labor.

Just thoughts, I really love some of your designs but as a custom maker I would want a little bit of say in the end result. I just ordered a knife from Pohan Leu, and I was able to get a knife to my specs. Just saying. I don't want you to think I am sticking around for nothing. I like your designs but have a few little requests.

Platinum Edges are free. Are you sure your not the verbose alterego of Rolf?

Richstag, I've found the more freedom I've given Jeremy, the more I'm impressed with the results.

I think I'm still down for the following: black beanie, 2 key fob thingies (D2 and A2 fatty), thin SPDR with black micarta

Don't care about the wait. Whenever is good. Just want to make sure I'm on the lists.

This is a good idea! I sometimes forget what I'm down for, myself.

I'm pretty sure I'm down for: one beanie (either kind is OK, really), 1 key fob (any steel Jeremy likes), Camp 2 (boy, I like this chopper!!), and ... I would surely like to be added to the "thin SPDR" list if I haven't said so openly enough. Handle material for the SPDR?? Again, whatever Jeremy thinks is cool will be fine with me.

I haven't had a new Horton since my TS-1.:)

Thanks mang, but Horton is supposed to hook me up with some super-thin stock at some point when he gets in more black canvas micarta. I'm down with him, and I don't want to pull out on the order.

"Super thin stock" would be very cool for me, as well.:D:)

Thanks guys, and Kevin I have given you multitudes of info on everything from sanders to belts to technique you showed us you can pimp but you don't want to grind a profile to put in the work. To be a knife maker so you know how I feel,, you don't want to get down and dirty cause,, u don't want to.. So don't question me, look to yourself,, and all your ideas,, and feel free to call me anytime, if you need help,,

I am not Rolf.:p

J, it is not that I do not want to cut out a profile and put in the work. That is wrong. It is that I am working my way towards it. That machete was my first attempt at a real satin finish, micarta handles and basically cutting out a profile. There is nothing left on that machete that has not been reshaped. I am in the middle of another project with my skinny ash. I will cut out a profile but I will not do it until I am confident in my ability.

On top of all of that I am up at 0400 and home no earlier than 1900. I work over 60 hours a week, have a family and just started a new job. I can tell you that I will get to this when I have a chance. Aside from all of that, I am not a knifemaker and I do not plan on becoming one. This is simply a hobby to me. Like anything else I do in life I want to put forth my best effort. So I don't want to just order some A2 and start making it look like a drunk monkey was grinding on it.

Thanks again for all of your help with belt choice and grinder. Though I did not use any of your suggestions your input was helpful.

I will stick with friendship at this point. I am always giving you input to help you grow and meet customer demand. You do what you want though.;)

Kev. I understand. But, with the exception of Rolf , I can't think of anyone who hasn't been happy. And I offered to send his money back immediatly but he didn't want that he wanted to continue the fiasco.. I will be here. If you need anymore bad advise, lol

You gave me great advice J, I just could not afford it.

Let us forget about your experience with Rolf. I give it no mind.

I have forgotton how labor intensive the BEDC's were,, lots of groovin and notchin and millin..

they are worth it mang.... just do yo thang, they will be bad ass.

btw.... I like dirty satin, though I may take a page from pepper.... his feces pops!

pepperized

stag, mang.... I was nitpicky at first, but you just gotta see.... J. does what most knifemakers won't, or can't .... which is play their own rules and make truly exceptional knives. I only own 1 Horton Knife.... but it is by a large margin the best knife I own. and I own some good knives.

so just sit back, relax, and watch Jeremy make history. you'll come around to his way of thinking.... I did.

now lets drink mang!

Would you repeat that in English?
