Twenty Eight Buck Knives in the Process of Getting New Covers

And non knife people wonder why custom knives cost what they do.

You paid how much for that?!?:D

All I can say about this thread is. WOW!

Oh and it just reinforces my sickness.

Careful Mark, Buck may force you out of retirement to go work in their custom shop.

Looking good man!

Thanks again everyone! I did have fun working on these.

Last week st8yd suggested I put the 50th medallion in a handle.
I thought I had lots of them, but there were only a little over half a dozen 50th medallions since most of the knives re-handled were either the NS Chairman series with small blue "Buck" medallion or the Alaskan Guide series with no medallion.

I spent some time yesterday pinning a few knives and gave the medallion thing a try….put it on an Alaskan Guide that received new camel bone covers.
I didn't like doing that! All I had was a large router and it was too hard to see what the router bit was cutting…so this is probably going to be the only one I do.

That Looks really sharp!(pun inteneded) and very fitting for your collection!

Try a dremel tool. Also start from the center and work out.
You could also rout up close and then take the final trim with a knife.
Anchor the knife down, clamp down a 2x on ea side to support the router, should also make it a lot easier.

I like that medallion and really like the pewter looking anvil, the blue ones do nothing form me.

P.S. Magnification helps a lot with that small stuff, it really makes a difference. Sometimes I use cheaters and a magnifying glass.
