pro tip: never eat something that gives you the runs with a healthy dose of habnero sauce.

Better pro tip: eat ice cream for desert after that meal. Later, while suffering, you can cheer your bowels on.... "Come on ice cream"!!!!! For the relief you need.

So i could of sworn a seen a movie many years ago that i enjoyed but couldnt remember the name to save my life.... For some reason in my mind it was a movie.... Kept googling trying to find it using the plot as search terms, at least what i could remember from it anyways, and finally found it..... As a book. I immediately remembered reading the book once i seen the cover of it..... Funny how our minds work, i could of sworn i seen it as a film, i could remember parts of it just like i seen it on TV.

Anyways the name of the book is "Deathwatch"

Funny how your mind works....after a lefty or two.

Duh. That is a given! Forgive the spelling cop, but you of all people should be able to spell habañero....

From the Deathwatch Wiki:

The book was the basis for the 1974 television film Savages, starring Andy Griffith as Madec and Sam Bottoms as Ben.
The book was also the basis for the 2014 film Beyond the Reach, starring Michael Douglas as Madec and Jeremy Irvine as Ben.

Looked in the car twice. The wife looks, and it was in the cup holder, haha. Always the last place you look.

My wife lost her phone. Had the entire staff of the state park combing the trails for hours........nothing. Roughly six months and couple hundred $$ replacement later after she had been in and out of my car probably a hundred times; I have a few drinks and need her to drive home. The VERY FIRST THING I see when I open the door is her phone down in between the door and the passenger seat. Go figure.

Haha, yeah, that sounds about right.

So random question. Anybody ever sell something on the exchange to a shady buyer and then they never contact you? I sold/ partial traded a knife to a guy who was great talking to and exchanging info but after he paid the full price (I was supposed to pay him a portion back after I received his side of the trade) I have sent two emails at this point with no response. It's only been two days but I just strange he would have such great communication and right after he paid .......nothing. Odd.

Deathwatch? I haven't thought about that book in FOREVER! A friend loaned to me way back in the ancient days. (I think I've still got the book. Don't ever loan me a book you actually want back.) I did enjoy it though.

Now that I think about it, these two posts are related! :p

No no no.... Typing 7 paragraphs quoting 2 people about a book and referencing your entire childhood and then realizing none of it was necessary is how your mind works after a lefty or 2 :D

HA. MacOS was the only UI in which I ever learned to make extended characters, but I haven't sat in front of one regularly in 4-5 years now. I gave up. Now my i8n is more like classic hebrew without the vowels.

I took a strong dose of fakitol awhile back. Things changed too much and I'm Mr. Crankypants. Fonts made sense under MacOS 6.5-8.5. Then things went haywire and I gave up on all publishing media.

all that is true, but we used to do a land-office business trading fonts around a couple decades ago. Now I have no idea how they're managed (and little inclination to find out). The scism between X fonts and printing fonts on the various unices was also majorly irritating. So... fakitol. Besides, CSS is the new layout, and we have font sizes like "medium" and "70%". Few remember what a pica is.

I don't know WTF you guys are talking about in here, but this is a knife site... We don't do all that geek speak around here!

:D

Sheeesh, whatta buncha unicode geeks. I was only pointing out that it's spelled "habanero", not "habnero" - you left out the second "a". Notice I left out the "ñ" so as not to set of another flamethrower war. And I know what a pica is. As well as kerning.

Back to out regularly scheduled snarking.

I have no idea what sort of conversation just occurred on this page. But when I get text messages from my teenage daughter they look something like this.

;):D:yawn::eek::(:confused::grumpy::mad::rolleyes::cool::foot::barf:;):D:p

The whole spectrum of emotion in one sentence. Kids these days.
