Very nice duo there Thurin! Very glad to see this thread still going...hopefully I'll be back to participating in it before long :)

Through the graciousness of Phil (Comprehensivist) who temporarily swapped some blades with me, I am able to show this Two-Fer of Shadetree Evergreen Burlapped Fiddleback Sweetness

My Woodsman and it's brother from another mother, the Duke.

I'll be doing a comparison of these two, along with some other knives that Phil and I swapped, in the near future. But this duo was too good to hold back.

I think that evergreen burlap with black pins might be my favorite shadetree color. Those two are sweet!

Thanks guys. And thanks again to Phil!

Great pics Nathan -- that duke is a special one, no doubt! Glad it has made its rounds among folks who will use it! Looking forward to seeing your full up review~

Nathan (thurin) and I have established a friendly rapport over the last few months thru PM discussions on various Fiddleback models. We realized that our collections have some knives in common and many that were not. I originally offered to send him my Sneaky Pete to try. Then at the last minute I decided to just surprise him with two more in the box. He matched my raise and sent me three of his. We have agreed that we will post a “Trio Exchange” thread down the road to summarize our observations and thoughts about the experience.

Nathan posted a teaser above of his Woodsman with my Duke. Here is my teaser of his K.E. Bushie with my Arete. The Electric Orange Shadetree burlap on his KEB really pops when you see it in person. I am looking forward to doing a compare and contrast review of these two.

Phil

So that's where all of the quality shadetree has been going ;)! Looks like two awesome sets of reviews forthcoming from both of you gents -- very exciting!

BTW, that electric orange burlap is some cool stuff for sure

Bocote / nat-can / blue trinity pinout combo. The Hunter is 3/16" and the BF is 1/8"; pair 'em with a leatherman and bow saw and you've got all of your bases covered (chopping, slicing, detail work, etc.)!

I love Bocote. Very cool pattern in those two. What a great pair of knives - cool wood, awesome spalting.

I love those bocote with blue liners! Very nice Will.

Here are two with some beautiful old school spalting.

Will,

You are the master of acquiring matched sets of Fiddlebacks. Your Bocote pair looks as perfectly matched as possible on wood handled knives. Very classy looking.

I was glad to see you picked-up mistwalker's ironwood Asp also. Your ironwood quad set is amazing also.

Phil

Tod,

That is a sweet looking pair with some old school spalting. I wondered where that great looking Bushcrafter ended up after I saw it on the Flea Market. I am glad that you got it. You will have to post a photo of the glow-in-the-dark handles sometime. You have picked-up some nice ones lately to add to your nice collection.

Phil

Will, the grain in that wood with the natural pins / trinity pinout and blue liners is Bocote perfection. Those look awesome!
