You guys will be shook and I really mean that.Excited to see this blade IRL
Hunter, where is the balance point? You guys will be shook and I really mean that.
I've made and owned a ton of knives over the past 15 years and the Tyrant is in a class of its own. As far as I know, there's only been a handful of blades ever made by well respected manufacturers with similar specs. I think the natural distal taper that comes from the giant swedge is what makes the difference.
I put my personal one through some paces this weekend and loved it. Makes a pretty dang good kitchen knife too.![]()
I need to recheck the balance point for production run because we took a little be more weight out of the fuller. It is roughly 2 inches infront of the scales.Hunter, where is the balance point?
Do you know the center of percussion for this big blade?
I don't have anything thats similar in that size range. For ease of carry, the True Grass Machete is around the same dimensions as the Tyrant Bowie but only weighs about a pound.Hunter, would you ever make a scaled down version of this? Something 12"-14" oak? Maybe a little more belt friendly lol
Interested to see how the hiker fleshes out.I don't have anything thats similar in that size range. For ease of carry, the True Grass Machete is around the same dimensions as the Tyrant Bowie but only weighs about a pound.
Here are my upcoming smaller designs but they are both field knives.
The Fjord Hiker pictured on top is about 10in overall with a 5in blade. .210 thick.
The blade below it, which I haven't named is around 12in overall with a 7in blade and will be around .210 thick. I also have renditions of the same model with a 9in blade.
These are both traditional field knives that can see hard use and still slice well, with the bottom model being geared towards really hard use and chopping while remaining compact.
