Tyrant Bowie Prototype Run- Z Tuff

Stay intensified my friends....

For your viewing pleasure, the Tyrant sized up against one of my all time favorite Bowies.

Hi Hunter, suppose my hands were of similar size to this fellow in the picture I have included.
How would you say I’d do holding the Tyrant Bowie?

Got the testing video filmed today. Here's the aftermath.

Even the camera guy was impressed with how well the Tyrant Bowie performed. Z Tuff is the real deal folks.

Regardless of what the steel charts say, Z Tuff has WAY better edge retention and toughness than AEB-L (which is a phenomenal steel that I love). My machinist has told me that Z Tuff is 3-4X harder on endmills than AEB-L and my experience in testing shows that Z Tuff is a more aggressive cutter and has better edge retention than AEB-L, not to mention, better toughness and resistance to breakage.

Z Tuff glides through cardboard and the edge stability is second to none.

Z Tuff's combination of hardness and toughness is unmatched. CPM1V is probably the only contender.

Looking forward to the video of the tyrant bowie. Will we have a training montage of it being designed, milled, and CNC machined?
Like old school Rocky movies??🤞
Well the CNC operation is top secret, so you would need clearance to view the footage. 😆 I will start getting some footage of me in the shop to show you guys how I make these blades and the details that go into them.

The testing video might have one Rocky-Esque moment. My untrained @$$ was able to get through a 2X4 in just 4 swings.

3 swings would be easily attainable with a little more practice. This might be the most powerful chopper I've made aside from the one off 18in blade Tyrant Bolo...

I'll take it

Sounds awesome. When may we expect to see the video?

That is epic! Thank you so much for sharing the video and get our appetites going!!

Is it just me, or the hand holding cardboard looked anxiety inducing-ly close to the giant edge? 😅 Glad no one got hurt in the making of this video! Except the cardboard boxes, they didn’t survive! 🤣

You know... I thought the same thing when I was holding the cardboard. I was like, this is a bad idea and I should stop. 😂

That's surprisingly good. I was expecting great toughness but not that kind of edge retention as well.
