UFO thoughts - NEWSFLASH

Yes Danny I understand that almost every culture on the planet has some form of "space-type" visitor, and I agree with you in that this in and of itself points to at least some type of evidence that "visitors" do exist.

As far as us ever coming in "contact" on a massive scale, I believe that it will be exactly like the discovery of the New World.
First you colonize and trade, then you conquer the population, then you exploit your power and resources.
Remember since we are talking about descriptions--- predators have binocular forward vision and every "gray" that I have read about has had their eyes facing forward.

I find the discussions interesting, but have to admit that my "UFO-ology" is no where near some of the other forumites so this is also a learning experience and broadening of my knowledge base.
 
Peter Jennings, when he was diagnosed with cancer, cashed in his chips with the networks to produce a show on a subject he avoided throughout his career. You should watch it.

As to a massive scale visitation: Who knows? Maybe it will be good, or bad, or just another change in our lives. I do know this: The fact that is could be terrifying doesn't change the fact that it might happen.
 
The real question might be is are we ready for contact?
Maybe these visits over the years are to find out if we are evolved enough to actually be worth contacting.
Maybe these visits are like the commando recons of WW2--- gain as much intel as possible and try not to be discovered.
It is food for thought.

Seriously though, I'm not an expert on the subject, but what I've read from people much smarter than me seems to indicate there has been no contact with another civilization, and probably wont be. The probability is very small.
 
It is hard to explain to someone who has seen one up close and scary that they do not exist. (not me) But there have been thousands and thousands. Many of them highly educated, responsible, sober, experts in the field, etc..(nuclear bomber pilots, astronauts, etc..)

It's not a question of probability for the government. They officially stated it as a fact 60 years ago. (See General Twinings' report)

This country no longer cherishes Academic Freedom. That died out some time ago, but we need to get it back.
 
Danny, you mentioned something to do with Peter Jennings... please describe. I am interested but don't know what you are referring to. thanks. BTW, I am in Frisco!

Hey Bush-Haus - Peter Jennings did a special on UFOs before he died. He only interviewed military pilots, AFAIK.

Have you ever heard of the Shag Harbour incident?

I'll have to go look it up again but if memory serves me correctly, the Canadian military was involved and at the time caused quite a stir.
 
It looks like the Jerusalem footage WAS a hoax. Nobody hates a hoax more than I do.
Shag Harbor (had to look it up but i remembered the basic story) sounds like somebody went for a dip too close to shore...
