Ugly Knife Contest 2003

Count me in! Just finished this ugly duckling up yesterday. Like Indian George, I don't claim any credits except the execution...

Believe me, if it was, it wouldn't have made it to the photo. It's actually my first dyed/stabilized elk horn. I was going for RED, it just came out a bit lighted than planned. Ooops!
 
OK, here is my entry. This is my first damascus blade. This was supposed to be a ladder pattern. This was BPH (before power hammer). It is even uglier now that the corrosion in the cold shuts and slag inclusins really shows nicely. It was made with pure nickel and 1095, I can't remember how many layers.

But my opinion should still count! J. Neilson does indeed have a pretty good entry... BUT, Dave Larsen wins HANDS DOWN so far! Sorry Dave, but that is one butt-fugley knife you made there. I hope she wins it for ya!;)
