Ugly Knife Contest 2003

The gut hook thingy gets my vote. I think I soiled myself trying not to laugh while at work. That's a Beauty!!!!
I wish I had something to enter. Keep em coming guys.

Sly,I am telling the truth. The second one isn't mine. I have never in my enter life time made something that butt ugly. I could drink a case of BUD and still make a better looking knife than that. So you are the one who is cheating.:p :p :p :p :D :D :D

Dang George! Thats ugly! Looks like ya fastened the handle with dry wall screws....what ever works:D :p :D :p

yup looks like dry wall screws to me too IG
pizza sheath hey that would go great with yours J.
will Tess get it done before you eat it?
that ice picky one looks like a winner too.:D :) :)

I'll add this one to the list-

I had alot of folks look at this one funny but, I kinda liked it. Still think the pepperoni knife was worse, though.

Right now I'm very dubious between the two knives posted by IG (the second one is real crap!) and the gutting bottle opener by graymaker.
I actually like the horrible knife by CL :D

I have no ugly knife to post. Right now I've made just one knife, and it's not ugly (I won't say it's good, though):D

But I've seen a couple of ugly knives, and want to introduce a couple of production knives to you, just to add some representatives of the "industrial" cathegory :) one of which makes all those posted (but the gutting bottle opener and the dry wall screw ones) seem like finely crafted masterpieces.
I don't have pictures, unfortunately. It was sent to the knife magazine I write for for evaluation. It's not a custom made knife: it's actually mass produced and it gets sold!
It was so disgusting that we refused publishing it. The knife was kept as an example of how a knife shouldn't be done.
It's real, real crap...
And then ther's this one, by none else but Puma Knives, which once used to make damn good industrial knives.
Now they are down peddling this crap...

Note: you can't see it in the picture, but the other side is flat, the blade being chisel ground...
It's the ugliest production knife I've ever seen.

I've really enjoyed this thread!:D :D

Some of these are old, or crappy construction, or silly designs, or just plain ugly. However, for a knife that was built by someone here, on purpose, and recently my vote has to go to Indian George's first entry.

Sorry George, but I can't think of a single redeeming quality on that sucker. Ugly, uncomfortable, bizzare finish, everything.

I do understand the throwing knife concept; its the retrieving part I don't get.

Steve

Hey now George!!!! Three now who`s cheating:p
I have only made two Ugly knives ever:rolleyes:
well that you cam prove anyway:rolleyes: :D :D :D

Oh man, that's righteous! Steve, you made all my coworkers look at me funny! :D :D :D

Steve: I agree with holded heartedly, especially in the retrieving part.. I always said my favorite knife is the last one I made, it does not pertain in this instance. But the customer is always right bad taste or not.:) :) :)
Syl: I am telling you that I didn't made the last two that I posted. After the final vote the truth will come out.

I don't know about single knives but, I think George wins for the best collection of butt ugly knives. :D

IMO, a knife can be well made but still be UGLY. So I vote for ddavelarsen (and that Puma if it was eligible).

I really wanted to vote for Grey Maker, but after a close look and a bit of research, I realized it's not a knife at all - it's the door handle from a 1958-59 Frigidaire! :D  :D
