I honestly don't know what to make of it either. I can appreciate the workmanship and mechanical intricacies it has, it's too impractical to be considered practical art and too impractical to be taken serious. A nice prop for a Steampunk Cosplayer with too much money.

There was a fun discussion about that Bladetricks XikXak karambit in an FB group and the concensus was that it is very, very poorly designed and likely injurious to the user if ever used defensively. You have a fun karambit story, don't you?Oh crap! It’s a trowel? I had been using it to serve pie!
