Ugly Knife Pics

It's one of those "only Spyderco" types of knives.

Some dude in Taiwan was like, "I want to make a folding knife version of my favorite local pit viper." And Spyderco was like:

This post seriously just made my night. God bless you and this golden post.

I think the ugliest Spydercos are the ones where the Spyderhole creates a massive hump on the blade. Especially when the model is based on a custom that was attractive in its original form. I'm thinking of knives like the Tighe Stick and the Vallotton.
And while I'm picking on Spyderco, I also don't like many of their shrunken designs because they don't seem to make them narrower proportionally. They start with a wide blade and then shorten it so it becomes very stubby looking. I'm thinking of knives like the Dice, Lil' Lum and Para3.
yea it really bothers me when they go out of their way to use a hole as the opening method. the tighe stick would be beautiful without that stupid hump. I get that the hole is their thing, but seriously its kind of petty the way they choose to put it on al their knives. It makes a lot of knives ugly and difficult to carry.

Lol it looks like some cheap dinosaur themed TacForce. Actually its a Hinderer Jurassic, oooooooooh!!!!

I think this simpler one turned out better.

You gotta add his 2018 SHOT Show editions embellished with the actually meshing gears!!!!

Im posting way too many times in a row, but I feel i need to share, This is actually a knife I made. I shamelessly admit that it came out ugly as hell but I thought it looked cool and is very functional. (The guy that bought also seemed to really love the looks of it.) Im also going to post the first knife I ever made because it was Really REALLY UGLY.

And almost a year ago this little gem was borne XD XD (also behind it, that is the sheath. two pieces of a leather belt that I wrapped in duck tape :)

I actually think the first knife you posted is kinda cool. I think with a little polish and love it would look even better. Kind of reminds me of a mini Spyderco Ronin.

I was told that before that it looked like the ronin!
And thank you! it was really dirty in the picture, since it was already sold I didn't bother taking super nice pictures. I also went back over it with a 400 grit belt real quick later on and it looked a little nicer. Its made of O-1 though so I doubt that finish will last long lol

Dreadnought center shot looks like it has a backspring. Is it a slipjoint?

Ugly and blocky whatever it is.

A slipjoint with a wave? That's gonna work great...

I was trying to determine if it was a lockback with some sort of hidden lock. I think not. It might be built for some European country with weird laws? Whatever it is, it is ugly.

@emjay4248 take a look at this ugly knife.

Eh ... No worse than the "One Arm" blade that's been around since the 1860's.
This knife just moved the "use the pocket seam or belt to open" feature from the tip of the blade to the heel. :)
I still say it is an ugly arse blocky knife.

Yeah, but you have WAY more leverage on a "One arm" knife...this one would have to have a pull around 1-2 for it to be waveable.

True.
But, given how short and heavy that back spring appears to be, I'd guess the pull on that thing to be close to a 9 or 10 ... if not higher.
At least after you ripped your pocket trying to use that wave hook, you might be able to pinch it open ... or at least get a good grip on the blade with pliers ... or a vice grip?

Huh? How do you depress the lockbar with no cutout in the liners or scales?

They even put a small hole on fixed blades. It's because of trademark patent. All or it can't be trademarked.

Like this I guess. Look at the spine.

It’s on Deviant Art though? Does that mean it isn’t a real image and is only 3d rendered? (The world is getting scarey. Can’t tell the difference between real and 3d modelled anymore!!?)
