Ok, so I have been for years trying to get the perfect 007 kit to put on my key chain.
So far I have it rounded down to the: Ladybug II, Leatherman Micra, and the Turquoise Photon.

Other small knives I have tried: Mini Champ II, Swiss Army Rambler, Spyderco CF ladybug, CF Dragonfly, Microtech UDT, Dalton CA Special, GT CA Legal, Cold Steel Mini Pal.

I have yet to put an Umfaan on my chain ... what are your favorite chain knives/toys? I am looking for something multipurpose that has the same quailty as the ladybug II, micra, and photon. Help?!

What I am carrying this month:
  • O.C. Pepper Gas
  • Small Sebbenza Classic Knife
  • SureFire E1 Flashlight

Thanks Copfish for the hook up on the Light and the Gas!

Mine's close to yours. A Ladybug, a Micra and a blue Photon 2. I use the type of keyring that has a nylon strap about 4" long with a fastex buckle in the middle and a ring on each end. On one end is the Ladybug, the Photon and my 3 keys. The other end has the micra. Since I wear a fanny pack a lot, this works well because I can tuck the micra behind the fanny pack belt so the keyring is secure but instantly accessible.

I have a Swiss Tech Utility Key, a green and turquoise Photon. Green because it has a 7 day burn time, turquoise because its bright.

How about this? Not much a multitool, but it serves the purpose. Whole thing is under 3" long with the sheath, too. The links will take you to pictures...I forget which one shows the while setup and which ones show just the knife... Oh, and BTW, Geocities is really weird, so when you click on the link it will tell you the page isn't found. If you copy and paste the address into the address bar you'll see the pictures.

Years ago I bought a Spyderco Firefly(I think that's what it's called). It has a key ring plus a ring clip. There is a small red LED in the but, which you activate by pressing the yellow insert on the side of the handle. It's a small, sharp lockback that I cherish almost more than anything else I carry, and I have never had to replace the battery or LED.

Hey Guys...

Ya might like what I made for my wife's keychain then..

micrakey.jpg

It's a Concealex rig that locks the micra in place, allowing my wife to removed the Micra completely when she needs to use it...

I also made a little Concealex rig to carry a Maglight Solitare on the keychain.
The light is also removeable making it that much more handy then being trapped on a set of keys.

Whatcha Think ??

Now that is a cool little sheath. I guess you could make them for anything. Spyderco Ladybug maybe???

Hey Normark, that's awesome. You oughta make them for other people - you've got your first customer right here! I'd definately pay to have a cool little sheath like that. Heck, you could make your Micra a "neck tool". Does it really hold that in there tight?

It just so happens that we've packed that Micra with a highly concentrated explosive... enough to blow the door off of most safes. You may find the keys useful. They open ninty percent of the world's locks.

Oh and 007, try to bring this equipment back in pristine order for a change.

That decked out Sebertech tool is very cool for a keychain.

But Eric's solution is definitely the coolest I've seen! You are really on to something there, and you have another buyer here for sure! That is a very cool little sheath!

My key chain stuff:
1. Keys with RC to my car
2. Safety pin
3. Swiss-Tech Utili-Key
4. Photon 2 (White)
5. ASP Sapphire Light (Blue)
6. Tracer Glow Ring (Green)
7. P38 Can Opener
8. Home made Ti Cork Screw

Besides this stuff I carry (of course) an EDC, usually Spyderco Military, a piece of nylon rope, duct tape, rubber band, handkerchief, ballpoint pen (Ballograf), Zippo Lighter and sometimes my Palm (Visor).

Cheers!!

Two weeks ago before going on vacation, I purchased a new Victorinox Midnight Manager. I'm crazy about it, especially the light & Philps screwdriver features, and it's still almost as small as the Classic! Eventially I'll have to get another one for my other key chain. Though the Classic is good, it's hard to go back to after useing this handy little tool! RKBA!

Ryan,
This is my "spy gear", and it all fits into a little case, about the size of a book, or you can place them separetely..

I think I may be interested in a Micra sheath too. Let me know if they become a production item.

Have you noticed that time flies like the wind, but fruit flies like bananas ?

Guess I will need to make a scan of my Full Kit now.

StJames - where do you get the Tracer Glowring in the states?

Norwalk - how much for the Micra Keychain Setup?

Linjunpei - Dude that is one sweet kit, what is the item at the top right corner of your scan?

Hey Guys...

Here is a better scan of the Micra and Maglight

micramag.jpg

My wife and I both use the maglight on our keychains, as it also allows you to take the light off of the keys easily while still firmly holding the light in place...

Both are held in tightly so you won't Ever have to worry about it slipping out..

The one Micra shown was the third prototype, and the only one I was able to get out. You wouldn't think they would be tight,, but they fir nicely.Same goes for the maglight..Just ask Bagerra how the fit was on his firesteel...
smile.gif

Actually Yes I will be putting them into production, and if there is enough interest I will also get a Spydie Dragon Fly or Cricket, what ever you guys want most...

If you have any other suggestions, I will also consider them as well...Firesteel keychains maybe ??
smile.gif

For now I will probably be selling them as a set..Don'tt know what the price will be,, but it will for sure be reasonable...

Let me know what you guys think ,,and I'll make them..

Ryan, fellow forumite Bagheera has been known to put together an order from time to time and ship them over here from Holland. Keep an eye on the "Trading Post" forum. I have gone through something like 25 or 30 of them in the last few months.
