Ultimate Keychain Kits

Some Great Ideas!

I showed my Wife the Sheath for the Micra and she really liked it. Those would make a great Gift.

Hey guys, a really informative, helpful thread. I appreciate it. I need something to tote meds around in, and am tired of my tiny little Tupperware container made for the same purpose. Keeping the lid on isn't guaranteed by any means.

Eric -- did we get at least a rough estimate on cost for a Ladybug sheath? Might you make it in different colors of Concealex? For those of us who have/get black handles?

I received several of the capsule key fobs from Ryan - to date I have determined that they will hold a rolled up banknote easily, will hold 6 advil tabs, at least 7 iodine tablets (water purification), several small hooks w/ a couple of split shot sinkers, at least 10 of these small breath mints I have at the computer station - pretty neat little container.

Meanwhile I also have received my key fobs. I opted for the Bison Design capsule (Is that what you got, Flotsam?) and I really love them. They hold two rolled up banknotes (if you roll them tightly) and are pocket friendly due to their oval shape. They come in assorted colors and have to be special ordered through REI. Mine are black and a nice purple. With sipping it came out to $10 for the two of them. Thanks Paul, for the suggestion.

Now my keyring is worth more than my wallet.

Protodoc... What are the approximate dimensions of that Bison capsule? I started to order one and held off until I could find out how big it is. The idea of having something like that on the keyring is a good one, but I hate (HATE) big bulky keyrings...

Matt,

The body of the capsule is 1.5 by 0.5 inches outer dimension. If you add the little nubbin for the splitring and the curvature at the other end, the overall lenght is 1 7/8 inches. Perfect size IMHO.

today i got the sog crossgrip and its awesome. i coupled it with a photon light on my keychain and its all i'll ever need. the little compound wrench has already proven more than worth the $25 i spent on it. i can't recommend it enough.

I'd like to see a Kuboton combined with the Bison capsule, with O-ring lids at both ends, and a built in photon-type light in the lid opposite the key ring. About the size of a AA mini-maglight, but containing banknotes, pills, matches, etc. Or at least a Kuboton which holds up to a roll of assorted pocket change, maybe a roll of quarters.

The ones that I received were approximately the same dimensions related by protodoc. 1.5" x .5" external dimensions, w/ approximately 1 3/8" x 7/16" internal dimensions. The four that I have are anodized black aluminum w/ screw on tops & o-ring seals, but I have several more coming in red/blue/green/purple. Total cost for all 4 shipped: $13.50. Ryan is great to deal w/ - check out his post in the trading post forum - look for spy key chain capsules.
