Ultra-light Camping...With a Junglas

Yeah, dog shit is what we all want to see on the trail.

I didn't know wiener dogs could get up to 800 pounds.

Think of it as thread fertilizer. ;)

Oh that's good. :D

Earlier this year, there was a dog out there.
It was out walking its human. ;)

You may recognize some of the same knives that came out on this outing. :)

Less poo, more knives.

Come on people, this is Bladeforums, not whatever freaky sicko site lovers of feces congregate at.

Here a few Q&Ds from my very last outing - stove still warm...(not really). Anyway, stove in any event still wet from rinsing.

No pocket full of dog poo and no poo to scoop - mainly because I didnt bring a dog for that purpose....., so there.

And yes, the poop show sort of kinda took over there for a while. Surreal! - good grief, just when you thought, you'd seen it all.

... more knives.

U bet ya'

Night time pic of my bushcraft knife, stove in case and two flash lights. Why two - because two is one and one is none, thats why!:D

Used knife to chop up some dead branches for the stove. Did it work? - judge for yourself:

Stove in action.

A couple of lights is a good thing.
I always have a small flashlight for when the batteries in my headlamp die.
Makes it far easier to change the batteries.

I did a nighttime trip like this with my daughter, but it was an old Quarry. Needless to say took about 20 mins for a fire ring and we proceeded to cook and hack out a walking stick with my ESEE 6.

Nice!
It's memories like that she'll treasure in the years to come.

Hey Stabman, i have no ZT's as of yet, and am about to pull the trigeer on either a 0566, 0562, or 0350. any ideas? Obviously similar outdoor use is what i intend...

I'd likely choose the 0562.
Reminds me of the 0561 which I own and have used.
Elmax steel is nice, and I prefer knives without assisted opening (just personal preference), so I'd lean towards the 0562 over the other ones.

wow thanks, looked up the 0561 for reference, noticed a longer blade and like that, and I was getting Elmax this time around anyway. Found a 0561 brown G10 for like $145 shipped, looks mint, claims he only opened the mail with it, so here we go! Thanks for the help.

Excellent!
I think you'll really like it. :)

Nice work with the Junglas. I like the steak sticks.

It makes cooking the steak so relaxing as regards energy output.
Simply turn the stick every so often. :)
You are free to grab more firewood, set up a hammock, or whatever else you want to do around camp.

If a smaller fire and fire-ring is used, a much shorter stick will work just fine.
I'm working with the established fire-pit, so I'm using sticks of a length to suit it.

Please come to Switzerland and clean up all the cow and horse $h!t we have on the trails...you'll need to bring a roll of garbage bags and som XXL cargo pants...
I don't have cows or horses as pets I take on trails in Switzerland.

There were also no horses, cows, or dogs taken as pets on my trip.
Nor did anyone have need to crap in the woods.
Yet you showed up to spread "thread fertilizer" anyway...

I should probably thank you though, as more people checked in to the thread to see how people would react to it.

So thanks for the extra views. ;)

I brought the big JetBeam in case one of those clowns showed up. Id have flashed him (with the JetBeam, that is!!! - get your mind out of the gutter :D).

There has been a spate of those so-and-so dressed up as clowns scaring people locally lately.

I agree with the small or light flashlight in addition to the head lamp. I use the head lamp for general lighting but the flashiight is better for close up inspections or sometimes if you are walking a trail. What's that noise? Turn head.... adjust head lamp for distance..... easier with flash light. :) If choosing only one, then I'd take the flash light with a spare set of batteries.

I agree with most of this. That being said, the Streamlight pictured has plenty of 'throw.'

For blinding attack clowns and the hilarious sight of them being temporarily blinded and stumbling about in the undergrowth of the forrest, my working hypothesis is that the larger JetBeam will work better:D
Hasnt happended yet...
