What barrel is that? Im a fan of the fluted barrels.

Sweet rifle! I like the extended mag release. You have a trigger or trigger job done to it?

(Looks like the Hogue stock, which I love on the 10/22)

TBL, you should get a gun. They're awesome.

Would love to but if I went out and got one right now, I'd be shot with it when I get home. Going away on a little adventure on Saturday out east. Headed out to New Brunswick for a little vacation. Going to take the inlaw's motorhome. Should be a good time

I'll continue asking for my birthday and Christmas like I always do :D

Just as a heads up I am selling a couple spare Beckers in the exchange

Too bad. Between OT and holiday pay I've got an extra $400 on my next check and I'm working two OT shifts this pay period so I've been looking for what to get next. Maybe you could get a job on Derek and Moose's cumquat farm. Or hire yourself out to keep people from walking in font of cars while playing Pokemon Go.

Alright guys, I got a raffle going and need to fill it up, so if we can fill it by this weekend, I'll hit the button a 2nd time and pick a 2nd winner! click here

Very nice!!

Sweet build!

Ahh...my vacation officially starts today!
Don't have to be back to work until the 26th.
Taking the boat out to the lake for a week with the family.
Fishing's been slow so far this year, but I'm still looking forward to it!

Good luck with the fishing and have fun Jo(H)nny!! :p

I have caught more fish this year than the last 5 years combined... Then again.... The last 5 years i didnt get to do much fishing and this year i go ALL the time!!

Average 10-15 or so most days at the creek, couple times i caught nothing and a couple times i caught over 30.... and i have been to the creek prolly 50 times this year. 2-3 times a week during school and at least once a week since summer break started.... Add in the fishing at rivers, lakes, and ponds around here, lakes in Georgia, the hunting camp up the road... And that equals STILL NOT ENOUGH :D

Im going out in my small boat 2moro weather permitting. Right now on my phone it says 50% chance of rain all weekend, it says 50% right now as well and its currently storming LOL

Ill prolly take the chance either way. I dont mind getting wet. Especially if i catch a few fish. Hopefully its just overcast. Cloudy days make the best fishing days.

What a crazy 24 hours these have been. First the terrible stuff that went down in southern France. Now a coup in Turkey. Damn, 2016 is going mad.

I recall a few of you guys saying you take Krav Maga classes, what's it like? Wouldn't mind learning some sort of self defense skills after I get my license and can drive myself to classes.

I went with a friend to his Krav Maga class as a guest to audit it, I ended up being a full participant in the class with hands-on training for a couple hours.

I'd say if you're concerned about having to defend yourself against people armed with knives and guns, it could be a useful skill set to have, but I found it very militaristic for a defense style and not something I'd pursue further due to the aggressive nature of the 'defense' I was taught.

I understand if someone is armed and they attack you that you'd use any and all force necessary to eliminate the threat, but there was still a lot of unnecessary violence after disarming that I found a bit disturbing for real-world non-combat situations.

Granted, I have 4 years of Teukgong Moosool training, the S. Korean special forces martial art. I was taught to resort to violence as a last-ditch defense and to not pursue death unless it was intended to be dealt to you. I carry myself more a a guardian of the people around me rather than a badass hoping for a fight, an attitude for which the Krav Maga seemed to train.

Anyway, doubt you'll find Teukgong Moosool classes nearby so Krav Maga should work better than most to train real-world skills into you, as long as you don't get caught up in the militaristic nature of the style.

I'm too busy collecting guns to collect Pokémon. :D

TBL, you should get a gun. They're awesome.

So I've been too busy selling guns (actually mostly silencers) to collect guns... :D I just started selling suppressors in January and caught the big run before new 41F procedures went in place on 13 July.

I'm hopelessly behind in Snark... We headed out two weeks ago tomorrow to visit a friend's alpaca farm and pick up some fleece for my wife to process and came back to discover a toilet flapper had jammed and most of the house had an inch or two of water in it. The aerobic (vice septic) system had filled and was alarming, and we had water coming out of the weepholes on the front porch. It took until Thursday of that week for the restoration company to dry the walls out and we're still waiting for them to tear the floors up and check the baseboards and dry wall. We are going to look at tile tomorrow as a replacement for the engineered hardwood floors. They are doing two bedrooms, one bath, the foyer and hall, then we move back in those rooms and they'll do the 3rd bedroom, hall bath, and living room. Going to take way longer than we'd like, but at least we get to stay in the house while they work and insurance is paying for most of it.

Been working hard with the chickens... One went broody and hatched out two broods back to back, so we're up to 39 chickens. Not sure how many of the 9 and 6 from the two broods are going to be roosters. My wife is hoping for none, but a 9 week old was already trying to hump a full grown hen. She gave him a little peck just before the year old rooster knocked him off her. It was pretty comical considering the hen is about 3 times the little rooster's size!

Also been busy working the bees since we're up to six hives now after doing some spring splits. Pulled about 60 pounds out of 5 of the hives so far and expect another 60 or so within a week or two. But it is seriously hot wearing the bee suit during the day when you need to harvest, and the bees are generally peeved when you take their honey, so the suit is necessary. I even wear the leather gloves when I'm taking honey now.

I'll try to catch up this weekend. However, if I miss anyone.... congratulations, condolences, best wishes, that's cool, etc...select whatever comment applies to your situation.

In the words of the great Teddy Roosevelt, speak softly and carry a big stick.
I was always taught, and firmly believe, that you should never start a fight if you can avoid it. However, once it has begun, you do what whatever it takes to end it.

Take any class you have available. I took a Jeet Kune Do class in college that was a lot more exercise than I had in mind. But it made me think about what it takes to handle unarmed situations. Good stuff!

I'll echo the above Spike. Any martial art that's local and you get practice at is good. Repetitive motion learning the movements and how to manipulate the person you're fighting is pretty much it. Krav Maga is excellent. So is Jiu Jitsu, and Wing Chung. Karate can be sketchy depending on the location, but the legit ones are great. I've dabbled in them all at one time of my life or another. Last guy I was training with used to be a training officer for the US Army Rangers. Used to go over to his house once a week for a lesson then practice at home. Was some fun stuff

I'd be willing to bet you'd have a better chance at being arrested for that speedo thing then the assault that may have occurred.
