Um, Snark?

Yeah I might have to get it pinned. Since it's broken so close to the joint

What systems?

DDrt primarily, esp in a loop, esp esp soon in a loop with pulleys

hitch climbers, petzl zigzag, probably unicender

if you lookup 'uSaver' and 'uClimber' you'll get the idea...

basically, technical tree climbing. i don't have caves, or rocks of sufficient quality in my backyard, nor am i willing to travel too far.

i got 15 feet of vertical in a beam in my office, so i can experient when it's not nice out, and ... i'll have to find good friendly trees all over.

you know geocaching? there's a version of that for arborists where the cache is "up high"...

What in the French did you do?! I kinda gotta see a picture of said lanyard that did this to you.

4 hours and no snark. Where'd everybody go? Doesn't everybody stay up all night surfing the internet?

Snarking now.

Been up since six working on some final edits to a climbing guide that we've sent to the printer. Hectic. Coffee obviously helps.

Temps up here are going t be miserable over the next few days. Going to be in the low 90s, but will feel like 100+ with the humidity. Might have to hunker down indoors and enjoy some adult beverages.

Alternating between rowing workouts on the Concept 2 and training in the climbing gym. Looking to get fit for the fall. Would be very psyched is I could get between 137 - 139.

How's everyone else holding up?

Not too shabby, Gus. I was out mowing yesterday in the 90* weather to avoid mowing in the 95-97* weather. We will be doing some carpet shopping this weekend. In a perfect storm of boredom and energy, the pup decided to start tearing up carpet upstairs during a quick trip to the store. She's usually crated or confined to a smaller area if she's left alone, but it was only going to be a short trip and she's been real good here lately. Oh well. New carpet was on our list anyways. Just not on the docket quite yet.

Naturally, that started a slippery slope of house projects and we will also be doing downstairs tile in the near future... yay

My life is relatively boring at the moment, nothing exciting is really happening.

It's gonna be low 80s and sunny today with similar weather for the next week. Gonna get out hiking over the weekend with a day hike up to an alpine lake and back. Haven't used any of my knives in a while since the last campout was a wilderness camp and knives weren't allowed or required.

We're supposed to have 100+ for the next 4 days. It'll only feel like 107ish. :D :barf: I've been doing all my outside work between 7am and noon. After that, it's off to the shop where it's air conditioned.

G$ - Is that pounds or kilos? Pounds is kinda skinny and kilos seems like a lot for a climber.

Not ideal that she's chewed up the carpeting, but I guess it could be worse. The only thing that Oz ever chewed up was a custom-made piece of furniture. We now have a lovely Nelson bench with Oz's teeth marks on one of the corners. lol!

Sounds like perfect temps for getting out. Would love to see some pics of the alpine lake area. Where exactly is it?

Pounds! I can do metric for speed/distance and volume. For body weight and height I'm still stuck with imperial. I was part of that transitional metric generation. I can do the conversion, but body weight and height still seem right in imperial. Other mass and length measurements are metric. Very weird!

We've spent some time climbing in Texas (just outside of El Paso). Always appreciated the dry heat.

A timeless classic! Ha-ha!

Indie also snuck out of the bedroom in the middle of the night a while ago and gnawed on a corner post of an oak bed my grandfather made for me about 20 years ago. I'm debating on if I want to repair it or leave it. Boredom and energy are a bad combo.

It's a good thing she's cute....

Leo likes chewing on carpet as well. And blankets. Bought him 20 chew toys but he still goes for the things he knows he's not allowed to chew on.

A few weeks back he chewed the carpet up in a corner and ruined our comforter.

He has gotten much better though and hasn't chewed up anything in over a week.

I have a vibrating collar for him. It can also shock but i never put it on the shock setting. I tested the shock on myself and it didn't hurt up until setting 25. But i still only use it to beep or vibrate...

First i make it beep.. He normally stops what he is doing then. If not i vibrate the collar... He doesn't like that and immediately stops and shakes his head LOL

Took longer potty training him than Neko but he hasn't had any accidents in a while so that's good. He learned to come and sit faster than Neko though.

Oh and now he can hold his own wrestling with Neko. He likes to jump off a couch or bed right on top of him. They are about the same weight now but Neko still has some height on him.

Snow Lake in the Snoqualmie Pass area. Never been, even though I only live an hours drive from the trailhead.

Here's a nice picture I found (not mine) of the lake, it's supposed to be easily accessible starting in July so snow is a possibility still.

Hey WW,

How old is Leo now? And Neko? I remeber when you got him!

Man, that is gorgeous! You have to take pics if you go!

I do my best, nature photography is a growing hobby of mine, between knives, nature, and knives in nature, that's most of my photos taken with my phone thus far. I'm considering a DSLR camera, if I can ever afford one, to be an investment worth making for me.

Leo will be 16 weeks old tomorrow and Neko is 2.5 years old.

Coincidentally they both weigh 27 pounds today lol. Funny though because Neko still looks bigger.. But he also has a lot more hair and Leo is solid. Neko's collar barely fits Leo's neck but is a little loose on him.

Leo would weigh more... But when i adopted him he had loads of worms and another internal parasite and it took several weeks to get rid of them. But he is parasite free now and been gaining weight steadily now.

The vet thinks he will be 100 pounds maybe more... I'm guessing 70 at most... He has the looks of the English mastiff but the size of a lab to me. The vet said due to the amount of parasites he had a slow start and being half English mastiff likely won't reach full size until 2 years of age. I still doubt he'll be 100 pounds...

Either way.. 50 pounds or 200... I'm happy he is healthy now.

Be glad to see my wife tomorrow. She's been in Canada for 10 days.

Checkout the mirror less stuff like Canon M2

If you live in MA or know someone that does and they have what amounts to any common standard semi auto rifle...

Watch out. They've gone fascist and are coming for you as a felon...
