Snarking now.
Been up since six working on some final edits to a climbing guide that we've sent to the printer. Hectic. Coffee obviously helps.
Temps up here are going t be miserable over the next few days. Going to be in the low 90s, but will feel like 100+ with the humidity. Might have to hunker down indoors and enjoy some adult beverages.
Alternating between rowing workouts on the Concept 2 and training in the climbing gym. Looking to get fit for the fall. Would be very psyched is I could get between 137 - 139.
How's everyone else holding up?
Not too shabby, Gus. I was out mowing yesterday in the 90* weather to avoid mowing in the 95-97* weather. We will be doing some carpet shopping this weekend. In a perfect storm of boredom and energy, the pup decided to start tearing up carpet upstairs during a quick trip to the store. She's usually crated or confined to a smaller area if she's left alone, but it was only going to be a short trip and she's been real good here lately. Oh well. New carpet was on our list anyways. Just not on the docket quite yet.
Naturally, that started a slippery slope of house projects and we will also be doing downstairs tile in the near future... yay
My life is relatively boring at the moment, nothing exciting is really happening.
It's gonna be low 80s and sunny today with similar weather for the next week. Gonna get out hiking over the weekend with a day hike up to an alpine lake and back. Haven't used any of my knives in a while since the last campout was a wilderness camp and knives weren't allowed or required.
We're supposed to have 100+ for the next 4 days. It'll only feel like 107ish.:barf: I've been doing all my outside work between 7am and noon. After that, it's off to the shop where it's air conditioned.
G$ - Is that pounds or kilos? Pounds is kinda skinny and kilos seems like a lot for a climber.
Not ideal that she's chewed up the carpeting, but I guess it could be worse. The only thing that Oz ever chewed up was a custom-made piece of furniture. We now have a lovely Nelson bench with Oz's teeth marks on one of the corners. lol!
Sounds like perfect temps for getting out. Would love to see some pics of the alpine lake area. Where exactly is it?
Leo likes chewing on carpet as well. And blankets. Bought him 20 chew toys but he still goes for the things he knows he's not allowed to chew on.
A few weeks back he chewed the carpet up in a corner and ruined our comforter.
He has gotten much better though and hasn't chewed up anything in over a week.
I have a vibrating collar for him. It can also shock but i never put it on the shock setting. I tested the shock on myself and it didn't hurt up until setting 25. But i still only use it to beep or vibrate...
First i make it beep.. He normally stops what he is doing then. If not i vibrate the collar... He doesn't like that and immediately stops and shakes his head LOL
Took longer potty training him than Neko but he hasn't had any accidents in a while so that's good. He learned to come and sit faster than Neko though.
Oh and now he can hold his own wrestling with Neko. He likes to jump off a couch or bed right on top of him. They are about the same weight now but Neko still has some height on him.
Snow Lake in the Snoqualmie Pass area. Never been, even though I only live an hours drive from the trailhead.
Here's a nice picture I found (not mine) of the lake, it's supposed to be easily accessible starting in July so snow is a possibility still.

I do my best, nature photography is a growing hobby of mine, between knives, nature, and knives in nature, that's most of my photos taken with my phone thus far. I'm considering a DSLR camera, if I can ever afford one, to be an investment worth making for me.
