Got out on Riffe Lake today.
The fishing was slow. Only caught 2 trout about 12".
Great scenery though.

Still looks like an awesome time out. That lake looks gorgeous.

Cool shot, Biscuit! Be sure to watch out for the falling terracotta pots.

Hell yeah....taco 12 pack is totally legit. Makes a great midnight after drinking snack and breakfast... Even if you pass out with the box in yer lap...

That ridx stuff puts the good bacteria back in yer crap tank to break down the solids. Lots of cleaners kill them off and backs it up then ya gotta pay like $300 to have it pumped out.

RidX is bad for a septic tank. I don't know why they are still in business. Every time poop is flushed into the tank, bacteria from your gut goes with it and keeps digesting it. At most, one simply needs to add a pound of baker's yeast to the tank about every 6 months for periodic "jump starts".

Yes, RidX will reduce the amount of solids in your tank. BUT........RidX adds bacteria types DIFFERENT from normal gut bacteria to the tank This different type of bacteria break solids down further than normal gut bugs do, causing the solids that normally settle to the bottom of the tank to be transformed into a liquid state that becomes part of the liquid in the first compartment water, which then transfers over into the second compartment of the tank and then on out into the drain field, where it will form a black goo that plugs your drain field lines and contaminates your drain field.

Worst case scenario??? Eventually, you get to dig up your entire drain field to replace the lines AND the gravel/soil of the drain field area AND you get to pay for the disposal of the contaminated soil.

It's not just septic tank pumpers who say RidX is bad. Septic inspectors and installers dislike it as well. Leads to long term problems. We always told our renters SPECIFICALLY NOT to add RidX to the tanks.

Magic fuel.

I get 20-22mpg per tank average. I get 25-30mpg on some trips 20 miles or so but the tank always averages out to 20-22. Hwy/city/off roading combined... No complaints... But today my taco turned into a unicorn and flew!

My daughter started a girls horseback riding camp today. She loved it. I drop her off and pick her up each day so it's not like a normal "camp" but it's a nice place with some beautiful young women working there. I wanted to "go riding" :D

Eat yogurt regularly.
It will clean out your septic system.
Then rinse the container down the drain.

Turns out that when you grind skinny pieces of metal they get REALLY HOT.

Can any one give me a bit of computer operating system advice?

I have a computer I built that had windows XP on it. The hard drive died over a year ago. I just got a new hard drive and put it in but I need to buy an operating system. I want to buy Windows 7, 64 bit.

The one I want to buy on Amazon prime says

Use of this OEM System Builder Channel software is subject to the terms of the Microsoft OEM System Builder License. This software is intended for pre-installation on a refurbished personal computer. This OEM System Builder Channel software requires the assembler to provide end user support for the Windows software and cannot be transferred to another computer once it is installed. To acquire Windows software with support provided by Microsoft please see our full package ""Retail"" product offerings.

It seems like the right one but I dont want to spend $95 and find out its not. That sound right to you guys?

Anyone know what they mean by requires the assembler to provide end user support?

Has your Taco been consuming 'shrooms or something?

My daughter's horse riding instructor made me want to ride, too. Absolutely NO chance of that happening, though.

The statement is referring to a computer repair shop that is working on a customer's system that came in in a state similar to yours - dead HD and now, no OS. It means that MS will NOT provide any support to whoever the OS is being loaded for, that the installer is responsible for providing said support to the computer owner.

is your heart really set on Win 7?
if so, then yes - you can buy that license, but it may not include a software download.
also - at some point in the future, MS will download win 10 to your computer as a "patch/upgrade" to the OS.

OTOH, if you're at all handy with computers, Ubuntu is free -- and functions pretty much the same.
go to the library with an 8gb flash drive and download it - then plug the flash drive into your PC and take it for a test drive -- if you set the PC to boot from usb, Ubuntu will run from there without installing so you can see what you think of it.

That sounds intriguing! Might try that on my working PC...

Never heard that but it makes sense.
The company I work for has a pump truck and is a major plumbing company in my area. I know they try to push something but no idea what brand etc...
I'll ask a plumber in the morning what they think.
I do a lot of trouble shooting and repairs on lift station pump controls but not much, or anything really on the tanks and such.

Ubuntu rocks. Rather than interrupt all the septic tank crap talk in the snark thread, I sent Maus a PM with the Ubuntu link. I'm running it on several machines in my house.....it's fast, stable, crap free (unlike your damn septic tanks) and works great on older hardware - and as Erik states, free. I love it so much that I have actually donated money to Canonical, which was a BARGAIN considering how many computers I have gotten running with Ubuntu - and how many Windows machines I have rescued using an Ubuntu Live disc/stick.
NCSlice: do it. You can even set up dual boot and make all your geek friends swoon - for whatever that might be worth.

B.Mauser, when did you turn orange? Whatcha makin?

Windows is meant to hurt you in hegemonic ways.
Ubuntu, like any Linux, is rough around the edges in ways you'd expect from a group of semi-independent people donating their time to write and OS that runs half the internet. Which is to say the various GUI layers are a bit odd. But the core is the best mainstream unix ever to have lived (I said mainstream, Blah-dee-teh). Also, use XFCE instead of Unity for dawg's sake.
