un-Official Modded Kershaw/ZT Thread (Scales, Regrinds, Frankensteins, Dye-Jobs, etc)

I'd love to see this. You make the clip?
It was from a stainless steel mechanical pencil. I bent the part that wraps around the pencil to be flat then tapped new holes. I'm working on pics. I also put a scotchbrite pad finish on the blade, just to get the laser engraving (Kershaw, RJ Martin, etc.) off of there.

So far the only thing I've needed to do is add a bit of jimping to the flipper and polish the pivot areas on my 0200.

my most recent creation...using the layers of the g10 to make a bolster...then use the lines going into the pattern:-)

Just got this one this week via trade. No idea where the scale came from, but it's really nice. Five minutes in the sun taking pics this morning, and I came inside and could see it glowing in my shadow in the hallway.

There are some sick blades on this thread. I just received delivery of my first ZT's from some fellow members over the weekend. Just finished making the LBS's on my 0561, 0550, and a Cryo. (45ACP +P, .223 and 9mm Luger, respectively)

Now to find some nice wood for custom scales...

Where can I find that 550 scale????? LOOKS AMAZING!

I'd venture to bet that it's a one of a kind. I could be wrong, but damn there is some nice work on that scale. Love the Offspring skull!!! Amazing knives everybody!

^ thanks! I have more custom Knives in the works from awesome people so keep your eyes open in the next couple of months

Just got my 0550 this week. First ZT and its awesome. Its a bit big and I'd gladly buy a cryo sized version but I can't believe how smooth this thing is! The factory scale was cool, but black g10 is still just black g10 even with nifty milling. So it got some Rosewood, originally I picked up some zebra wood but couldn't get it thinned down enough from 1/4" without chipping it all to hell.

Sorry for very blurry iPhone pics, my hands were pretty beat by then. First folder scale I've done, and it took quite a while.

Thanks guys! :) It came out all right, few chips from dull bits though. Have some canvas micarta, g10, and CF on the way for future attempts.

Good idea on the polished hardware! Might do that, but I'll probably order some stainless screws in the same thread/size, maybe scotchbrite finish those. Your scale actually was my motivation for trying the wood scale.
