Thought this might be a neat idea for a pic thread.

I like things that are a little offbeat. I'd very much appreciate seeing everyone's traditionals with odd or unique handle material.

No jigged, saw cut or smooth bone. No stag. No yellow delrin. Gimme your swirly acrylic, coconut husk, mastodon marrow, etc.

Mardi Gras acrylic count?

A buddy of mine has one made of "pasture wood". Literally made out of epoxy and cow poop.

That reminds of the scene in Shawshank when Heywood picks something up and asks Red how about this one, and Red tells him its a horse apple :D

I just posted this picture in the GEC #26 thread, but thought it fit in here also. It is not an unusual material exactly, but the execution is I think. GEC calls this Frontier Bone.

This is what David Roeder calls Pasturewood.....it's dried horse crap mixed w/ an epoxy resin.

How about gun stock checkered Ivory?

Great. Thanks for that. I didn't know it existed before your post. Now I have to track one down AND convince my wife that I need one.

Lighter Note: When I was typing the above message Autocorrect stepped in and changed "wife" to "wide". Made me laugh.

That's a beauty of a conversation starter and a knife. Thanks for sharing.

Reminds me of my maternal grandfather. He always had ribbon candy and pepper mints around.

Dredd8- that looks great! And it has an interesting story to go with it when someone asks what the handle is made from:)

It doesn't exist as an offering from GEC. This was a custom mod by Evan Nicholaides (Esnyx). He has done a very limited few for some folks here.
So I suspect if you want one, you will need to contact him privately to put an order in on one.

Good news indeed! I've lusted after one of his knives for a while now, but I can't in good conscience afford one so I don't have to bother with any wheeling and dealing.

I think that Arno Bernard offered dried and epoxied elephant poop for awhile. :D
Thanks, Neal

That is fan-flippin'-tastic. Seriously, I think I have to have a knife with paturewood handles. Very rarely do I see something new and get that feeling that I just have to have it. This is one of those times. That handle is gorgeous, and knowing what it's made out of makes it even better. It looks like it could be a burl, but instead it's made out of something that most people would consider refuse. It doesn't get any better than that.
